Post where is among defensive players, guy is horrible on D.  Nice offensive player.

He could not hold Bill Walton's jockstrap.  Bill played on both ends, and his career was marred by injuries, when he was healthy he was a top five to ten center all time.  We won't be saying that about KO.

Noah is an elite defender too, something KO is not.  That being said, he gets some steals with his basketball IQ, does the best he can, with his limited athletic ability and t rex arms.  I get a sense he is trying which I can live with.

Bird played crappy individual defense, and his arm length was below average, yet he managed to carve out a pretty nifty career in the NBA.   Doubt you would bash Bird for those "short comings".   The kid has really stepped up his game the last two outings.  He is uniquely skilled for a 7 footer.  Had to laugh at the comparison to Luis Scola by another poster.  That is just an incomprehensible comparison in terms of skill set. Makes me wonder if people even watch the games.

The biggest thing, which I bring up a lot because I find it overlooked, is the fact that Olynyk is actually a 7 footer.  Which is a big deal.  I think it's already showing in the rebounding department that he's in a different category than many of these smaller skilled bigs.  It also is huge for his shooting and ensures he can get a lot of threes up over smaller or late arriving defenders.

And like always you have your strengths and weaknesses.  I think with our front court yes we don't  have defensive strength but our shooting is great and if we can also rebound at a good level (which we have so far) I think it's a good unit that creates match up problems without giving up too much.
