is it nice to lob the same kind of insults people paste at you re: Rondo?

Yes, I'm so rarely able to lob any insults at the Rondo haters. This is like a completely new experience for me. If it works out I'll turn over a new leaf and be a little sarcastic on occasion.

Hey, it's a real eye-opener for me. I occasionally worry that some of my posts could be seen as insulting, I'm glad to see that's not the case. I think that I might be benefiting from people thinking there's some unknown context surrounding my snarky comments, kind of like an invisible force field.

After the Kevin Love trade rumors first surfaced this summer, I also remember Saunders stating that Love is a member of the Twolves, he will not be traded , and he will be starting the season as a Twolves member.

No, Jackie made it all up, we've always been at war with Eurasia.

I knew it - Jackie IS the new GOLDSTEIN... :o

Yes, sarcasm does tend to be a little frightening.

are we really blasting Jackie MacMullan for this Rondo situation? she was clearly set up, ESPN comes off looking really scummy & sleazy here imo.

It is surprising to me that so much debate is going on over this.  JM got caught talking off camera/off the record and saying something that probably has truth to it but also something that a professional journalist should not have been saying, even off the record.

Quote
"It will happen because he's told them he wants out, and no one believes me but that's the truth," MacMullan said. "And I don't see how you get 80 cents on the dollar for him. Tell me where."

I went back and looked at the exact quote again.  She does not say "demands a trade", but does say he wants out and has told this to the Celtics.  She has her reasons to believe this while the Celtics and Rondo have every reason to deny it.

The debate will rage on I guess even if Rondo is traded.  That still won't prove what he told or didn't tell the Celtics.

If it's true Rondo wants out then he doesn't have any real reason to deny it. He'd be in line for a better contract if a team he didn't want out of traded for him as opposed to signing him as a free agent. In general most of the players who want off a team go public with their demands because that frequently leads to them getting what they want (ie off the team).

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.
