I'd say the OP is right that some of those could happen, but it's nearly impossible for most of those all to happen. If Rondo and Bradley are both healthy and productive, there's no way there is enough PT for Smart, Thorton, and Evans to all get enough PT to actually make an impact. Similarly, there's no way that Sully and Olynyk put up those kind of numbers unless they are playing next to each other, which won't leave PT for both Zeller and Anthony to be impact players.

Rondo and AB can't play the whole game (especially due to past injuries). Smart and Evans/Thornton will get more than enough mins as backups

Upfront the three guys i see getting the most min is KO/Sully/Zeller.  Zeller and Sully will likely start. For example Sully then takes a seat after 7 or 8 min, then KO comes in.  Zeller takes a seat a little later and Sully comesback in the game to pair with KO  (Bass if not traded, will get some min also).

All three will play equal amount of min. Or whoever is hot will get to play more

I doubt it, and I'll be really mad if Turner and Thornton eat up too many of Smart's minutes. I really want to see him develop. Maybe Turner can get most of his playing time at the 3. Why, Ainge, why did you have to burn a roster spot on ET?

A healthy Rondo can roll out of bed and be top 3 in assists for the league. I hope your right about Sully and KO.

10. Joel Anthony will come into camp in 2010-2012 form and provide improved contribution vs last season
9. AB will have his first healthy season
8. Marcus Thornton and Evan Turner will provide consistent scoring off the bench.
7. Rondo will be top 3 in the league in assists per game
6. KO and Sully will both avg 13-14 pts , 8 reb a game
5. Tyler Zeller will have a breakout year as a starting center
4. Celtics will have one of the leagues best defensive backcourt group
3. Marcus Smart will be and excel as the go to scorer in the 4th
2. Brad Stevens will be a candidate for coach of the year award
1. Celtics will make 8th place
#9 and #10 I don't see happening, not knocking AB but no nba players has a fully healthy season, fingers crossed he has no major issues
#8 turner for sure, thornton I'm not sure there will be enough minutes for him to score consistently, I see him behind rondo, ab, smart with smart getting combo minutes, thorton is sg only
#7 is a no brainer, can't wait to see him using seller on lobs etc, rondo made shaq(old old old shaq) look like an all star
which brings me to #5 zeller might be best pickup per deal of any nba player this off season!  hows that for bold
backtrack #6, sure depending on minutes either guy could average 10 rebounds a game, ko for some reason isn't considered as good a rebounder but he seemed to do quite well from what i saw
#3 ? if he is  the go to scorer in 4th that means AB is sitting…we are going to play a rookie for our resigned ($) sg, ball should be in rondo's hand to break down d and get best shot and lastly jeff green is a pretty good go to scorer who hits big shots, last thought thorton is in and hot he's a guy ala eddie house that can be that guy also

I'll play along.  Here's my 10:
1. Rondo will have recovered from his surgery and play close to pre-injury level
2. Jeff Green will have a better than average year for himself as he plays for his last big contract when he opts out after this year (to get that payday that Hayward and Parsons got).  May play well enough to be traded at the dealine for a contender looking for that last piece.  (would expect Danny to take back a poor player on an expiring deal with a young player and a pick in exchange)
3. Danny makes 1-2 trades before the start of the season to make use of the non-guaranteed deals to acquire a more-useful player (anticipating overpaid back-up center) and one of Fav, Bass or Anthony rather than cutting those 3 non-guaranteed players to make the roster limit
4. Young spends the year in Maine.  Puts up decent numbers - enough for most people to think he'll be a contributor next year.
5. Sully and KO will have improved over last year on mostly on offense but at least some marginal improvements on D as well.
6. Thornton, Turner and Wallace will grumble about playing time before the deadline passes.  None of them will have played well enough to justify it though.
7. Smart will be a solid defender from the beginning but will struggle on offense this season.
8. AB will still be gunning and drawing a lot of criticism for it as he did this past season.  many will complain Danny overpaid and should have let him walk.
9. Opening Night starting line-up: Rondo, AB, Green, Sully, Zeller.  Primary bench: Smart, KO, Turner, Thornton, Bass.  Anthony and Pressey on deep bench.  Young in Maine.  Fav and soon-to-be-acquired player in street clothes. -->depends on who's sent out in deal in #3
10. C's end up with the 3rd worst record at the end of the season ahead of only Philly and Utah.  C's get the 4th pick in the draft as someone with a better record leapfrogs them in the lottery again.  4th slot is still high enough to get a high-quality center prospect in the next draft.

my "bold" predictions.

10. joel Anthony will play more this yr. than last
 9.  ab will play some defense, take some bad shots and get injured
 8.  marcus thornton and evan turner will play more than green young and Wallace
 7.  Rondo will be a lot better than last yr. and traded at the deadline
 6.  KO and Sully will play more and and play like they did last yr.
 5.  Tyler Zeller will play more than joel Anthony because he's better than him
 4.  Celtics will try to play some D this yr.
 3.  Marcus Smart will play this yr. but not as much as everyone hopes because pressey plays surprisingly better
 2.  Brad Stevens will be nowhere near a candidate for coach of the yr.
 1.  Celtics are like every team in the East. they all have a chance at the 8 seed.

Zeller may gobble up some of those rebounds and hurt Sully and Kelly's RPG.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
1. Rondo has the best year of his career
2. The Celtics give Rondo regular rest time to help prevent injury, Smart shines with Rondo on the bench
3. Bradley's minutes are slightly decreased and he is once again allowed to pressure the ball full court (this team will rely on outstanding defense from their guards in order to stop anyone)
4. Olynyk improves his overall game this offseason, Sullinger slightly improves his 3 point shooting
5. Green plays well enough to opt out of his contract
6. Young eventually gets minutes
7. Bass is the starter to begin the year before getting dealt/demoted
8. Turner has to wait until later in the year to get consistent minutes, but when he does he plays well
9. Anthony, Faverani, and Wallace continue to be useless
10. The Celtics spend the season fluctuating between the 7th and 10th seed in the East, eventually squeaking into the playoffs
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Being as bold predictions are my thing here are my 10: 1. Brad Stevens gets the team to play top 5 D and better than average offense 2. Marcus Smart and Phil Pressey somehow combine to run the NBA's coolest Pick and Roll. 3. Rondo plays well enough to be an all star game starter 4. Jeff Green becomes and all star 5. Somebody panics at the trade deadline and trades an unprotected 1st for Bass 6. Bradley cracks the all defense 1st team 7. Tyler Zeller turns out to be a really good center. 8. We win th Atlantic division 9. We make it out of the 1st round of the playoffs 10.  Marcus Smart wins rookie of th year.

I don;t see how Marcus Smart can win ROY when Rondo is an all star starter and Bradley is first team all defense.

I definitely forgot that Joel Anthony was still on the team.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Well someone needs to be different, here we go:

1. Rondo gets traded
2. Smart starts at pg and gets (with an improved shot) 17ppg/7 assists/5 rebounds/.7 blocks/2.5 steals/48%fg, 37% 3point, 80% ft
3.  Jeff green steps up and has a career year
4. Sully loses weight and is a bit quicker and lighter on his feet almost gets a double double
5. KO gets 15 and 7
6. James Young surprises most everyone and backs up the sg and sf and nails a bunch of 3's
7. the celts have the 2nd worst record but get the 3rd pick
8. Celtics pick Karl Towns Jr
9. Gerald Wallace and Marcus Thornton cry all year about how little pt they get
10. The Clippers fall apart and miss the playoffs, we get the 13th pick...we pick Myles Turner

This is supposed to be a bold prediction?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
