Now that it looks like MR Love will be in Cleveland, I think now Danny has to really really come up with a plan B. What that is I dont know all i know is the summer is just heating up!!!

Jeff wrote about this a long time ago. If it was your job to build a basketball team...like really build one and not talk about it, there isn't a plan A and nothing else. There's probably up to Plan ZZZZZZ. If it were my job to do this, there would be contingencies upon contingencies and as you're seeing with a hyperactive GM who basically lives like he's managing a fantasy team like Daryl Morey, getting cute for the sake of getting cute doesn't always work. Plan A for a long time has probably been make a small deal to cut the roster down to 15 and get below the luxury tax and then ride the summer out seeing what presents itself.  We imagine Danny is constantly hitting redial and sending summer league videos of Kelly Olynyk to Flip, but it's probably not much that.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

So, you want Monroe then?

S&T for Kelly Olynyk + Bogans + Bass + 1st rounder?

Love never made sense to me.  We're not in a position to contend this season, so it seemed stupid to give up a bunch of kids/picks to have Love this season.  Signing him next offseason might make some sense, but even then, I'm not convinced that Love is the best fit for this team.

Stand still. Wait for better opportunity to present itself.

Nothing worth pursuing right now.

Priority one has to be re-signing Rondo right?

No moves Ainge can make right now will be good enough.

Be patient. Wait for better deals later on.

After the season, maybe.

Not necessarily.  I really think they need to play this by ear and see what comes available.  I think a 4 to 5 year rebuild is still one of their main options, in which case Rondo wouldn't be part of that, I wouldn't think, unless he absolutely wants to be here regardless of whether the team sucks.  And even that assumes they could sign him for what they perceive to be a reasonable price.

It's hard to get FA's to even sniff at Boston. But once they get here they love it. While we aren't close to contending, Love would have been the Ray Allen piece to getting the next shoe to fall. With FA's in 2015 and 2016 having Love already established with Rondo and having the extra cap space would have made it easier land the next guy that would help put us over the top.

But it's looking like a possible nuke is going to happen, unless Silver nails Lebron and Cleveland with a tampering charge and keep them from trading with Love. But since Lebron is the Queen of the NBA probably wont happen. I'm just hoping that Silver wont stoop down to Sterns level of letting this crap go on with the elite.
