I thought Jahlil Okafor was the early runner for the #1?

he's up there too, but this guy is projected by nbadraft.net and I believe draft express well as #1.

Draftexpress still has him as #1, I don't read NBAdraft.net - their analysis leaves a lot to be desired.

Not to hijack your post, so I'll get back on subject. It's interesting that Emmanuel is going the Brandon Jennings route. I don't think it'll help his development though unfortunately. Brandon hasn't exactly been a success story and the only other guy I can recall doing it - Jeremy Tyler - seemed to struggles a lot with adjusting to the NBA.

He a Big and plays for Duke and his draft status just started its decline.  Duke does not use big men outside of letting them rebound for three point shooters.

Ha, I love beating up Duke.  yeah Okafor is the top guy in recruiting.

From what I've seen, he's going overseas because of eligibility concerns with the NCAA

If he isn't NCAA eligible, it makes more sense to go overseas and play for the year rather than miss out on a year
I'm bitter.

"I was excited about going to SMU and playing college basketball for Coach Brown and his staff and preparing for the NBA, but I was tired of seeing my mom struggle," Mudiay's brother, Stephane, said in quotes his brother provided to SI.com. "And after sitting down with Coach Brown and my family, we decided that the best way for me to provide for my mom was to forgo college and pursue professional basketball opportunities.

There have been rumblings about eligibility, but he's claiming it's financial. At least for now.

Frankly, I'd like to see more American players doing it.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I agree actually, the sample size is so small for right now so it's hard to really tell if it benefits the players who have done it. The NCAA makes so much money off of these kids though, and they're under such a harsh microscope, I think more of them should look to provide for the families earlier if they have the opportunity overseas.
