Cap Holds =?

I was just looking on Real GM and it says we still have cap hold on like Dana Barros and a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. ton of people. Can someone explain this to me. If we reannounce them do we have more cap room? Or does it mean we no longer have there bird right? I mean I dont think anybody is coming off that retired list?

Cap holds for anyone who hasn't officially retired or whose rights the Celtics never officially renounced.

Once renounced, Boston will no longer have Bird Rights. Not a big issue for Barros, obviously. But for someone like Humphries, who's received interest from other teams, renouncing cuts off the Celtics' ability to sign and trade.

No. They aren't renounced because we haven't been in a position to have cap room in the first place for a long time, so it would be pointless.

You basically don't bother to renounce free agents until you actually use cap space to sign a free agent.
