I'd like to grab two players from the list. Jordan Hill & Emeka Okafor.

Both are solid fits for the team.

Greg Monroe               - yes
 Spencer Hawes           - big no
 Jason Smith                 - big no
 Ed Davis                      - no
 Andray Blatche            - no
 Jordan Hill                   - yes
 Emeka Okafor              - yes
 Ekpe Udoh                   - big no
Cole Aldrich                   - yes

Big NO on Hawes and Smith and yes to Aldrich?

Have you seen what Hawes and Smith can do compare to Cole Aldrich? Those two are better players than Cole.

I like Monroe.  Hes a solid center with some passing skills.  I think he would fit our system well. He is a banger and defends the post with strength and solid position.  He is not a shotblocker but he boards well sets screens and can score well enough to be a threat.  He also has legit size.

I think we should sign patrick young he was undrafted . 6`10 good defender , very athletic,7`1 wingspan.
Sign him up for a year go the cheaper route. I think our legit big center comes next draft or through free agency in 2015 .

I agree on Patrick Young. What are we waiting for??
I didn't vote for Monroe bc I don't think we can get him. Okafor post neck injury worries me but if he regains his form, absolutely.
I think Oden, Patrick Young and/or another inexpensive guy with upside like Aldrich, Jeremy Tyler or Hill could be good. Gotta bring in two big bodies and hope Iverson and Fav can also play.

anyone remember the interview with Sully after the season was over? I believe it was Comcast sports?

he said "they(the Celtics) told him they don't want him playing C next yr. and that they were going to get him some help there."

this is the summer of lies.

The summer is not even over yet. Okafor or hill would be nice fa signings. If not I would try to bring in aldrich. Maybe one of the SL c will surprise.

I voted Monroe as I think with the right team you could see him up his already good game improve quite a bit.  His defense isn't kg like  ::)  but picture rondo getting him easy shots.
So how about the MISSING piece.  Anyone think that Fav looked pretty darn good last year in limited minutes on offense, blocking shots and rebounding?  My assumption was his defense wasn't nba ready.  I think he could help us quite a bit and already has the shooting range of a spencer hawes, good rim protecting and rebounding.  So if he has rotations down we should give him some minutes and see what he can do!

If we want to go cheap, I'd take a shot at Jeff Withy. New Orleans just got their starting center, and we might be able to get him pretty cheaply. He could develop pretty quickly into a serious rim protector.

I'm ready to go on board on Who's idea that we should trade for Kosta Koufos.

I dont know how, but maybe we could start by trading Bass and Faverani to provide them PF and Center depth. Not sure if the financials work but you get the drift.

He'll be alright, and alright is good enough for now, since this FA is thin on quality Center spot. Let's trade for Koufos already. He's not going to blow you away, but he'll be a solid option until we find that real solution for the Center spot. Or it could be him, who knows.

But im on board. Let's go for Koufos.

Memphis has no reason to give up koufus. They need a him as a backup c

Decent FA centers available to sign imo
Hill
Okafor
Aldrich

Possibly avail through a trade
Mcgee
Withey

Worse case
Stienmsma

Worse worse case (through SL)
OD Anosike
Colton Iverson
Patric Young
Etc

Cant see monroe coming in. Danny wont pay the kind of money he is looking for (12 mill a year).

If danny cant pull of some magic and get a legit startkng big man, he needs to trade rondo or green or both to rack up on assets and picks to make sure we can buy the highest pick. Jahil Okafor or towns would be great. Worse case we need cauley stein

If I'm not mistaken I think Patric Young is on the summer league roster for the Pelicans and he is likely to sign with the Pelicans within the next week or so. I think reasonable fits for the celtics are either Jordan Hill, or Emeka Okafor. A few reports from Phoenix Sun sites say they are mulling offers for Spencer Hawes, so looks like Hawes might be headed there but it's not official. We don't get a legitimate center but at least we get short term with Hill or Okafor or even both for cheap. They are guys who can give you 15-10 production per game.

Houston gave away their backup Center because he's disgruntled, even though they will lose a back up.

Im not saying Koufos is disgruntled. But if we offer Memphis a good deal, they might. Remember Ed Davis is a free agent, so they are thin at the PF. Bass solves that, and he's expring. Faverani can be their backup.

Win-win.

Win-win.

Asik was also traded because of his $8 million cap hit, which is why Lin will be traded as well if the Rockets have any hope of signing Melo/Lebron/Bosh.

I doubt the C's could get away with trading Bass/Faverani for Koufos. Koufos only makes $3 million, which is $6 million less than Bass/Faverani. The only other player contract that matches that is Courtney Lee, and I doubt the Griz would ship him back.

The only offer that seems possible is Bass/Anthony and picks for Koufos/Prince. Since all contracts are expiring, it comes down to talent level of player, which is why the C's would have to add picks. Besides, the Griz already have Jon Leuer backing up the PF spot, so that's even less incentive for a trade.

Seems easier to target someone else.
