He can't guard Lebron, Melo or even Green because green would shoot over him with ease.

actually i do think he can guard jeff green (mostly from my dislike of jeff green)... but to the point, not many SFs in the league look AND play like melo/lbj ... i think they do look more like wiggins.. aka, harrison barnes, rudy gay, chandler parsons, gordon hayward. And frankly if KD has trouble posting up on tony allen and danny green, a piece of muscle like smart would be impossible to back down

100 percent agreed. He guarded a 19-year-old kid in college, not a real NBA 3. I am sure there are some 3's he will be able to handle, but until we see it I won't expect it.

I like Jeff Green but I still think Smart can guard him...I remember when Green wanted to post up on smaller players (pre KG trade/PP trade), he looked horrible...I felt that the SG is pushing him back...he did gradually improve his post

but for someone like Smart, a pitbull, I won't be surprised if he can prevent Green from pushing him back. He is actually heavier than Green!

I don't expect him to shut down Lebron, or Melo, but I do think he can guard some other 3s like the Matt Barnes, the Danny Grangers, Rudy Gay, Deng, etc

Has Tony Allen not spent a dsignificant amount of time guarding opposing SFs?  If he can, can't see any reason why Smart couldn't.

I saw this earlier and was surprised. I can't wait for the first time DWade tries posting up Smart and gets trashed. Can see Wade rolling around on his back now begging for call

I wouldn't talk about flopping before you see Smart play a lot....He's pretty adept in that department.
