I believe he had one of the worst rookie seasons of the last decade or so, but I don't have the numbers on hand.

There's a reason the kid was a lotto pick. There must be talent there and I'm assuming he's determined to become successful whatever the cost. I'd bet on him finding a niche and becoming productive in the league over time. Look at Gerald Green. It can be done. Austin is a good kid. He'll figure it out.

Doesn't matter if he's a good kid.

Question is can he play?

good question. now in an attempt add some specificity to this thread, is austin rivers as good as chris johnson? i honestly don't know since i have paid zero attention to rivers.

anyone who has seen both wish to shed some light on this?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

A big issue with Rivers is he's been behind Evans,Gordan,Holiday all of last season. It's hard to get playing time and constancy with that.

The last 5 games he averaged 14ppg when he got more that 30 min. Couple games he shot 33%, but I think there is some game there.

IF AB is gone, I could see DA making a move. He did run some point, and would be a much bigger guard than Pressey.

Rondo/Smart/Rivers/Young would be an interesting back court.

Rather have Bradley, and I'm not keen on keeping him.  I want the Rookies to play A lot of minutes , and develope.

Rivers has never impressed me in the least.

Why not give the kid a chance ? It wouldn't cost much to get him.

I could see this too.  If AB then he picks him up cheap and gives him a chance.

Please see Anthony Bennett for starters!!!  Or how about Otto Porter who posted a 6.1 Efficiency Rating for the regular season and only played 2 minutes in the playoff earning a ZERO ER!!!  Those are JUST TWO from this past season.  I could give you probably 100 examples over the last decade.  That is one of the most ridiculous statements in a while!!
