This week Rich Conte and I co-hosted Celtics Beat and had a great show with Kyle Draper and Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated. Draper and Mannix host Celtics Pre- and Post-Game Live on Comcast Sports Net New England, so we got their takes on everything from the drafting of Marcus Smart and James Young, the failed deal for Kevin Love, and the future of Rajon Rondo in Green.

Check out the show here: http://bit.ly/1wVhe13.

Does the Smart pick spell the end for Rondo in Boston?

Should the Celtics have picked Julius Randle instead?

How close were the Celtics to dealing with Cleveland for the #1 pick?

Would the Cs have still taken Smart if Dante Exum would have slipped to them?

Is Brad Stevens in it for the long haul, even if the team keeps losing?

Listen to the show to hear answers for these topics and many more, including a trip around the NBA in 5.

Excellent show.  Love listening to you guys.

Interesting how Mannix talked about Chandler Parsons and how the Celtics could "stick it" to Daryl Morey.  Was there a falling out there? Morey used to work for the Celts so I'd be surprised if Danny tried to "stick it" to him.  Even have worked on a Courtney Lee deal in years best.

I would love to see us get Parsons and he is the perfect Brad Stevens type of guy and can fill up a stat sheet.   He is a better player than Green at this point.  Perhaps send Green to Wash for Gortat?

TP for the show!

I loved the analyzation on Rondo toward the end of the podcast. That's pretty much on point with everything I believe. My concern is ultimately on value and when the right time to strike would be, since I too believe Smart will make the most of his abilities as a PG. We're basically rolling the dice in waiting for Rondo to increase value by playing better when the season starts. But what if he doesn't? What if he continues to struggle because he doesn't have the shooters around him to create space and compliment his game? Right now the injuries are used as a free pass of sorts, but that perception, and subsequently his trade value, will change if his performance falters.
