I listened to his recent interview and came away with some clear perceptions. It definitely seems Rondo wants to play for a winner. He was asked what he'd do if he was in Bron's position and he said he would definitely consider leaving Miami, because they don't have enough to win a championship right now. I couldn't help but hear him say that and wonder what that said about Rondo himself... if Bron should leave MIami... clearly that means Rondo should leave Boston, because it's nowhere near close to contending right now. He made it clear that he wants to win championships... merely playing for a contender isn't even enough. He has a championship or bust mentality. I also came away with the perception that right now he's being a good solider. Multiple times he expressed his faith in Danny Ainge. He suggested that Love or Melo was a possibility you couldn't rule out. To me, it really sounded like Rondo is on board right now, because he thinks we might make some fireworks moves... but if the team stands pat and we march out another 20-35 win team... I have strong doubts he sticks around. If we let it get to that point, we'll be playing a dangerous game where we try to lure a star to Boston in summer 2015 in order to appease Rondo... or risk losing Rondo for nothing if we fail.
