there's no accountability nowadays... back in the 80's robert parish would have crushed him with some forearms the way he did to laimbeer.
most of this is attributable to the culture of entitlement which david stern fostered towards his various darlings - first it was the pistons, then the bulls, then the lakers, now the heat. all vile, dirty teams, and they all know they're protected by the refs. it honestly makes me sick, i can see why some hockey fans look down upon this sport, you push the limits there, you get your comeuppance BIG TIME.
honestly, maybe it would be good if there were some goons in this league - remember vitaly potapenko? just big strong bruisers, give them a decent, slightly overpaid contract, and every once in a while, when it's needed, send them on a hit-job. when the league office complains, tell them to that the refs aren't protecting your players, and your teammates are just standing up for each other. unlikely this would work, but it would be fun to watch.

Most of that stuff on that video is fairly benign.  The Sessions nutshot and Collison push were cheap shots, but the other stuff was either two players battling (rondo) or a good hard foul (Kobe).  His penchant for flopping is much worse than any of this stuff.

the Flopping in this leagues has gone completely mad...Somebody is giving lessons to players---as soon as you feel any contact, snap your head back----Refs will bite on it almost all the time.

I specifically remember during our KG/Allen/Pierce days---the Celtics would NOT do this-even though other teams did it against them....Now, Ray Allen has been taught this move by the Cheaters in Miami....The Knicks guard Pablo Prigioni is one of the worst...that guy acts like he's been SHOT anytime he gets hit...it's awful.

Although, lately-I think Rondo has learned this trick too.

I don't see any 'battling' between rondo and wade on that play. Wade just forcefully pulled rondo down as a revenge of Rondo's terrific defensive play. Seeing Rondo's arm twisted so abnormally really hurts.

Disgusting a**h*** I agree. Fits in well in the 80s and 90s. If you celebrated the dirtyness and fights in the 80s and 90s though and call the NBA now soft, you can't be complaining about Wade as he is doing the same thing the Riley Knicks and Bad Boy Pistons did. And don't tell me players in the 80s and 90s did not try to injure. I remember Laimbeer and Oakley trying to injure.

To be fair, Pierce has the tendency to scream blood murder whenever he is touched in the slightest while going to the rack.  That to me is the same as flopping.

I don't often wish for guys to be injured but I'd love for Wade to try to pull a dirty trick and get hurt himself.  Ivaroni, Rambis and Laimbeer were my least favorite goons all time.

I actually think LeBron, despite the "Decision" and a lot of other ill advised PR moves is a better person than Wade. I wonder whether Wade's true colors will break up Miami - he will certainly seek max money. And it would be a miscarriage of (employment?)(basketball?)(salary?) something if LeBron were to make less than Wade. But, in addition to being an awful person, and a cheater on the basketball floor, Wade is also greedy, and is sure to seek a max deal, if he opts out.

The story a couple days was Wade was opting out and would accept a pretty big pay cut, to the $10-12 million range.  We'll see what happens, but that was the news.

I've gotten to the point where I no longer use fanhood to justify disliking other players in the league.  As a result, I don't have actual negative feelings about the vast majority of players.

Wade is one of the few exceptions.  Entitled, narcissistic ass who plays like a thug and a cheat far more than a man with his athletic gifts should find necessary.  I don't like watching him play and I'm happy San Antonio scorched him in the Finals, moreso than any other member of the Heat.

Wade was a great player and was hugely likable in his Marquette / early Miami days. As the skills declined and the ego ballooned . .. he's just become the most unlikable player in the league. He's been trained to get every benefit from the refs, but he no longer does and can't really handle it. I'm interested to see what he does this summer. It's time for him to check his ego but I'm not sure he's ready to. We'll see .  . . be great if LeBron ditches him.
