The Golden State Warriors have hit an impasse in their trade pursuit of All-Star forward Kevin Love due to what is being described as an "organizational split" on the willingness to part with prized shooting guard Klay Thompson, according to sources close to the process.

Man, right when I was getting use to the idea of moving around in the draft for a good pick/s.

Both teams would be dumb to make this move.

From GWS point, yeah they don't want to pay Klay a ton of money, but Love will cost more, and I think Klay works well with Curry in the back court. What they need is a bruiser PF to bang and get rebounds. They also need to move Barnes  for a SF that can come off the bench and produce.

From Minis point, Klay may not resign, and Lee's contract is not great, not bad, but will be hard to move in the last year. And he's 31, so he's on the back side of his prime. Klay is young, but hes a scorer And only a year younger than Love. So it's not like they're going younger with a 1st option. Klay is more of a second option right now.

Minni and Flip need to have some realization that they have to scrap what they have. Look at their roster. It's full of mediocre roll players. You know what your going to get from them, and it's not much. They are about 5 players away, not including love, from having a decent team to contend in the West. They have a decent Center an okay PG, and if you include Love you're still 2 starters and 3 bench players from being good. They need to take two years. Grab picks, move players, even for scaps, and draft well. Than see where you're at.

At least with Boston DA brought players in that could be part of a contending team with just two really good players.

I think they should do a 3 team deal. We get Love and Klay, they get our picks Sully, Bass, KO and other scraps lol. ;D

Minnesota is incredibly emotional about dealing with Boston. They just cannot get over their last trade with Boston which is quite silly if you ask me.

It seems to me that Minny is going to get fleeced again, because of their refusal to deal reasonably with Boston who have the best deal for them.

GS has sunk a boat load of money into Steve Kerr..... For a dude that has zero coaching experience .

I suspect for Kerr to succeed , he ll need Love.

They know that , Kerr knows that .....

Thompson is a better foundation player , he is build like a truck with good genes too.  GS center is an accident waiting to happen..... Just pathetic.

Curry is a very fragile built player .  I'm not convinced he can remain healthy over the long run.....like a Kobe could.  .

Curry stumbles ...the whole GS gig is up as a contender .

Klay and Lee give them strong consistent players on the court .

I don' think they can give up Klay and not worry about the other fragile players .

Barnes , Thompson and Lee are the steady backbone of that team ..the dependable guys.

I think though if they DO give up Klay .....Love is good as gone.

Then ....not sur if I'm Minn I want players that are going yo demand near max money WHO may not even want to be there......wouldn't it be better for Minn to draft young guys ....who can sign cheap and will give the Wolves a chance .....those spoiled stars to be don't want to be on Minn to begin with.

And I don't see Love signing with them anyways.  It'll be incredibly stupid on both sides to do this deal

love/curry/martin would be one of the worst defensive teams in the west. I still see them getting bounced.

klay/iggy were their only good defenders and defense was still a problem this year for them.

Bogut (when healthy) is an excellent defender.

So does that mean GSW is out of the running, making the next team (Boston) the favorites to land Minnesota?

There's still Denver or Phoenix to compete against...ugh. I smell that the Lakers are the darkhorse.

If you don't think Love would sign with the Warriors, then what team do you think he'd sign with?
