Keeping the picks could work out best, if the right players are selected.

Hopefully, the Celtics can turn Rondo into at least a second round draft pick this year - to help the process along.

Everyone wants truth on his side, not everyone wants to be on the side of truth.

It's always a gamble either way.  Yes, keeping the picks could work out best if the picks end up top 10 players.  The odds are with the guy we know is a top 10 player.  It's true that Love and Rondo alone don't win a championship, but it's a more likely road to one than with Rondo and potential.   But...you never know.

No, the trade could work out without any of our picks turning into a top 10 player.

That's an artificial standard of success, especially since rookie contracts cost a fraction of Love's max contract.

You guys act like there's something magical about having a top 10 player. As if drafting two mere lousy all stars would be worse than trading for a sacred and divine Top 10 Player.

yeah but no ones stupid enough to be convinced it's guaranteed those two players will be all stars.

oh wait...

post of the week??? Well done Sir

This is getting ridiculous.

Part of me actually wants us to keep these "AMAZING" picks that we have and experiment with them for five years just to come back and tell these anti-Love and and anti-Melo group that WE told them so.

I mean if you can get Love then you do it 100 out of 100 times. No questions asked. He and Rondo alone can attract someone like a Melo and you need stars to win.

i'm looking at this upcoming season as no matter what happens, we win. if the deal for Love falls through, so be it. it means it wasn't the right deal.

agreed. the celtics will be back....one way or another. wake me when it's draft day.

no, you have to ask the questions -- like is he worth what Minny wants.  Minny may want 5 firsts along with players.  is that a smart trade?   that would be a smart question to ask and I for one would answer 'no'.

The Knicks traded for Melo "no questions asked" and where did it get them?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Triboy is this your other pro-draft account?
Awfully similar grammar and style of writing.

First push is Aaron Gordon, then mention Rondo stepping down as the man to pass the ball around in a system of athletes and ball movement?

Picks outside the top 3 have less than a 1% chance of being a top 10 player. Kevin Love is a top 10 player.
We already have Rondo, who when healthy is a top 20 player.
If we can add another top 10 or 20 player, we have a good shot at creating a legitimate contender.

Just let Danny do what he wants to do. He knows what he's doing. You and I do not.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
