I just read a really cool article (http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/celtics/post/_/id/4713181/green-is-in-his-blood) about Nick Johnson. Maybe I'm the last to know, but it turns out he is Dennis Johnson's nephew.

Very interesting to me. I was curious what you guys think of him as a player and if you think he'd be a good pick.

If we got a 2nd rounder I'd be happy to pick him up. Not the guy we should get at 17 though

Of course.

How far into the second round do you think he will go/when is he projected to go and what do you think it'd cost to acquire that 2nd round pick?

I think he will be taken around the 40-50 range. A pick down there would be very cheap, but I'm not sure we could offer for it.

Interesting. It would be awesome to see DJ's nephew playing for us. TP for the info! (and quick responses)

I'd pick Napier before him, but, not being a huge Gordon fan, often thought that Johnson was the best player on the floor on many nights.

Yes he is DJ's nephew..Also his father was quit the street legen, apparently his name was Jumpin Joe Johnson

I wish Nick could play pg. I have loved his athleticism since I saw him play for the Drew Gooden Soldiers.

He's a great player. He was Pac 10 player of the year over his teammate Aaron Gordon and UCLA's Kyle Anderson.

He's a lot like Avery Bradley, not as long but much stronger.

The benefit of drafting a Kyle Anderson or Dario Saric or perhaps even Aaron Gordon is that you can get away with playing guys like Nick Johnson at PG.

There are good players like Johnson who just don't fit a prototypical role and prototypical position. So they get drafted really low or sometimes even end up in the DLeague.

Johnson is a shooting guard in a combo-guard sized body, but he can easily guard most any pg or sg in the league, and could thrive at pg next to a point forward.

Having two shooting guards next to a point forward would be sweet, and if we can't come to terms with Avery Bradley, Johnson would be a solid replacement if we could pick up a second round pick somehow.

If you want to watch Johnson in a game, here is the Pac 10 Championship. Johnson is one of those little guards who can provide surprising rim protection sometimes, especially on fast breaks, and he can touch his head on the rim. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83n34Q7bVEI

The C's bought a second round pick last year to draft Iverson.....if they could grab a mid 40s pick, Johnson would be a keeper.....looks nothing like his uncle, but is cold blooded on the court like him

Second rounders are going to be more expensive this year, because there's so much talent. And Phil Jackson and the Knicks are going to open the checkbook wide open buying up 2nd round picks, so that's going to drive the price up even higher.

I wish that was not the case. Theres so much value in the 2nd round.
