He's the pierce. Rondo is the ray allen. We still need a KG.

Thanks, that is the kind of opinion I was looking for.

From smokeyeye123,  "He's the pierce. Rondo is the ray allen. We still need a KG."

I agree with this, with a small twist.

Love > Ray Allen > just a flat out shooter
Rondo > Pierce > Not the scoring but the "do it all" player.

We need the right defensive big man now - Is LaMarcus Aldridge a free agent in 2015?

Not that Aldridge is a stud defender, he's decent. But boy would that be a helluva a lineup.

Aldridge
Love
Green
Mid level
Rondo

For all we know, Love may be this rebuild's Pau Gasol.

I'll go another direction and say that Love is going to be the Kevin McHale more than the KG or Ray. . . .stud PF with exceptional scoring abilities. There won't be a Bird equivalent unless we get LeBron, so Love/McHale will be the featured player on offense if he's acquired.

Could Greg Monroe be the Robert Parish to Love's McHale? Young talented center that isn't quite as highly appreciated by his current team as his next team?

I'd like the long term upside of a front line featuring Love and Monroe. Rondo would be the emotional leader and distributor, and the rest of the team could be filled with role players, draft picks and whatever's left after the trades. Hopefully, we keep Kelly or Sully.
