I thought that was the Knicks downfall with Carmelo why trade most of your assets if you know that's where your going anyway.  If we get love and retain 9 picks we can build an awesome team. If we trade sully Bradley and three picks and maybe k.o. that really hurts are chances. Love seems much smarter than melo. So shake on it now max money for you buddy in your favorite destination. And we will assemble  a champion in three years. Easy.

yeah some teams just don't seem to get it(like the Nix). trading all your assets away just to bring in one player ultimately turns your team into a revolving door and the only way to improve is to trade away future assets(like the Nix).

the goal is to add to what you have. which is why id be surprised if rondo were involved in a trade for Love. plus it makes no sense for Minny to take rondo and that would just be an embarrassment for them.

That sounds like a case of tampering that should be punished by the loss of multiple first round picks.

If the C's give up Sully, AB,filler and two 1st and a 2nd, we're still in good shape. Even at 3 1st rounds we still have 6 over the next 4 years.

NY gave up a bunch of assets with out building a stock pile like DA did. And they also tied up 46 mill in Chandler, Stoudimire and Bargnani. It wasn't the Carmelo trade that really hurt the Knicks, its all the other moves and lack of moves not acquiring more picks before making any big moves is what hurt them

When we traded for Garnett the Wolves were insisting that Rondo be included in the trade and Danny refused to do it, because he had a plan in place.

The Knicks didnt have a plan in place, they had a fan base that was mad they didnt get Lebron, and were desperate to get a star in town NOW to get the franchise moving.  So they decided to throw the kitchen sink at the nuggets and figure out the rest later.

Trust Danny.  He always plans ahead

Sure, we can do that.

I'll do you one better.

We can shake his hand after we trade for him this summer.

How's that sound?
