I would be pretty interested in looking at some guys who may have lower perceived value but good production on the court.

I guess im fine getting Kevin Love and signing him to a max extention but are there other guys who could be had at a better price who would be more manageable?

Al Horford seems to fit the bill. Under the radar guy, who is coming off an injury. He has a pretty reasonable contract for what you are getting. Hes only a couple years older than Love and gives you a lot of production that Love gives with a lot better defense. I think he would be a great fit with Rondo and he would be locked in for 2 more years.

Assuming he comes back healthy I rate him right at Love level. A little lower due to the fact that hes a couple years older otherwise he brings a ton to the table.

Offers us flexibility assuming that you wont have to give up as much as well as not have to pay him as much

I also have lots of interest in Horford.

But, I think Atlanta gives him one more year to see if he can help bring the team deep in the playoffs before pulling the plug.

Remember, the Hawks took the Pacers to 7 games this year as an 8th seed and that was without Horford.

Yeah im trying to see arguments both ways.

I wonder what it would take to get him. I can see them not wanting to "sell low" but i think  we could put a pretty fair offer on the table and not that I want to be loose but we can also afford to be a little bit flexible with amount of assets we have.

They are delusional if they really think they can make some noise currently contstructed, but i guess i dont really know what the MO of an organization like the Hawks is.

Al Horford is the guy they are trying to build around.  He is not a guy who is undervalued by his team.

I really like al horford but 2 things. He's always getting hurt so I don't want to invest heavily in him with assets. And I've always considered him a 4 and not a 5. I would take love over him even though love is hurt often as well but love>horford. If we can't get love but can get horford then that's awesome but I think sully can develop into a similar role but sully won't ever reach the level of love

I'd take Hortford over Love.

He has a better history of winning and performing in the playoffs (Love has none) and while he might not score as many points as Love, he is a far superior defender.  He's a nice all round player who (if he stays healthy) could hold down the center position for years to come.
