Now don't get me wrong, I am a lifelong die hard Celtic fan. And unlike some of you on this board, I never really got to experience the glory days of the Celtics. As far back as I can remember, Paul Pierce  has been the face of the franchise for me. When the Celtics were in discussions with Minnesota about acquiring KG, I was glued to my TV screen and must have refreshed Celticsblog every 10 seconds waiting to hear the good news. I remember thinking we had a dynasty on our hands. Seeing the Celtics win back in '08 was a great moment in my life that I will never forget.

And then there was the KG injury in '09 which ruined our chances of being back to back champs (we got out to a killer start that year). And then the 2010 finals which still make me cringe to this day. Yet I still believed that the old guys could do it, and get us another championship or two in the next few years. Then in 2011 and 2012, Miami was our kryptonite. Faster, younger, and more talented, they crushed us in 2011 and we battled them as hard as we could the next year.

Since that day in 2012, Miami left a lasting impression on me. I despised LeBron after the decision, and wanted to see him fail, whatever it took. That only grew after he defeated Boston in back to back years. Seeing my beloved Celtics lose to them 2 years in a row hurt a lot, and the worst was knowing we'd never get a shot to get back at them. We all knew we weren't escaping the 1st round in 2013, though it was a valiant effort.

Anyway, enough reminiscing. The point of this post is that I've consistently seen my Celtics' championship chances thwarted by these Heat. And while Truth and KG have moved on, I still view them as Celtics. And let's be real now, it's still weird seeing Pierce wearing anything but Green.

What tonight, and the next 2 weeks, presents us is with a chance of revenge. Granted, it's the Brooklyn Nets playing, but I can't help but feel like if the Nets eliminate Miami it'll still be pretty sweet. The Celtics aren't winning the title this year, and most likely neither are the Nets, but it'll be hard not to feel like a little payback has been given if Pierce and KG get it done in this series. While the Celtics aren't playing, KG and Paul Pierce are still walking through that door (even if that door is in Brooklyn). I am not a Nets fan, but I have to admit watching Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett beat Miami would be the next best thing to seeing them winning in green.

Was wondering if anyone else felt the same.

P.S. to my DKC competitors, my opinions on the real life Miami Heat do not, in any way, reflect my views and opinions on the DKC Heat  ;)
