What is with Jeff Goodman and his weird obsession with Rondo? I remember him ripping into Rondo a couple months back saying no other players in the league like him. Now he is suggesting a trade that makes no sense to either team.

Why would the nuggets make such a trade??

Typical reason for making a trade like that, they get the best player in the deal.

Rondo and Olynk to Denver for Ty Lawson, Faried and #11. Would you do it?

Faried is an upgrade to Olynyk.

Lawson and Rondo evens out but we get a younger PG.

#11 pick will come in handy. Could help us move up by adding #17 in a package.

Still, I would look at getting a higher pick instead so we could get Smart to take over from Rondo and Gordon.
In Danny Ainge I Trust!

No way.

You'd have to put Celtics18 on suicide watch if this happened.

Good call.  TP

SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I think Rondo is better than Lawson, but not a better fit in Stevens' system due to Lawson's greater ability to shoot and play off the ball.

I do like Faried. I like his motor, athleticism, ability to run the floor, toughness, and obviously rebounding. However, I would prefer to package Sullinger instead of Olynyk. Olynyk doesn't have the back issues, has better size (height wise), and has 1 more year on his rookie contract.

At #11, I think we'll have plenty of options. We'll be able to land  Nurkic, McDermott, or Stauskas. So we'll either add shooting or center help, which our two areas of need. Having that 2nd pick could also allow us to draft (at #17) and stash Saric in Europe for a couple of seasons.

This trade is a blatant ripoff and an insult to Rondo, quite frankly.

Also, imho, you never draft based on whether or not the guy would be a good fit in a coach's 'system,' you get as many good/great players together and then decide upon a style of play that maximizes their individual skills and talents for the betterment of the team.  Is drafting players based on whether or not they're a good fit in a system a football thing?

YUP.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

ME TOO.

I mean Lawson, Faried and the no 11 pick for Rondo (who's in the last year of his contract) and Olynyk?

If anyone says no, it's Denver.

No way Denver will want a past-injured ball pounding Rondo..
and he is not coachable..

::) God it never ends around here.

With or without being coachable, there's some serious overrating of Rondo's value around here.. and of course, per usual, an exact equal amount of undervaluing.

I'm sorry but for the poster who just said rondo basically is garbage cause the guy couldn't will the celtics into the 8th seed is completely off base.  First, the guy was coming off a torn up knee and missed most of the first half. Second, most fans knew no way with that team were we expecting playoffs without some moves being made. And lastly, there's no doubt in my mind in the end they were tanking hoping for that top 3 pick which failed.  Blaming rondo is so off base and really sad to put that on a guy that has done nothing but play his hardest with them green. Guy finished game on a torn up knee, came back after dislocating his elbow thanks to wade. I can keep going
