A BIG move or no move at all

I really think this trade deadline is going to shape the next decade of Celtics basketball.  If Danny can get a top guy (Love, Melo, etc) to play alongside Rondo, then we are going to have a quick turnaround in the next year.  If we can't land a guy like that, I think we gotta move Rondo for young assets and completely start over with the young core we already have along with all the picks.  Trading for one of these guys or sending Rondo packing would be a BIG deal.

If nothing (or almost nothing) happens - I think we may be in trouble.  I  think SOMETHING has to be done to either get value for Rondo or put someone legit beside him.  If Rondo is allowed to go into next season without an extension and nobody legit beside him - I think he is gone in Free Agency. 

Cmon Trader Danny!  Get us some pieces!

Yes, because if there was a big trade brewing, Danny Ainge would definitely go on the radio and say that.

I dont think this trade deadline will direct the next ten years at all. Our draft picks will. I don't see any major moves being made, if any at all. Summer will give us more of a solid direction than this trade deadline will.

We are only 2/3 of a single season into the rebuild process. A big trade could be just as effective, if not more at draft day, or sometime next year, maybe even the year after that.

Ainge is in asset gathering, and player development mode now.

There are no big trades.... When has there ever been a big trade at the trade deadline? I mean I can think of a couple, but in the past several years, there hasn't been one.

I don't see this happening. If we trade for Love its in the off season.

Yeah.  There's a very good chance nothing big is going on, but I wouldn't listen to Danny Ainge say as much on the radio and flatly accept it as truth.

The significance of the trade deadline, like most things on this blog, is being wildly overblown in this thread.

yes, he wouldnt say that but he also wouldnt flat out say that no big trades are happening, hed dance around the question. Hes telling the truth.

I just think Danny is going to follow the EXACT same formula that got us Ray and KG. So nothing will happen now but on draft day we will package our high pick and something else for a young borderline all star and then trade our assets and other draft picks for a bigger star making Rondo, star b and star c the new trio to build around.
