Man you guys are hard on my home state.  Lived in pretty much every major city in Ohio and currently live in the Cleveland area.  Cleveland is actually really nice, you just have to know where to go.  The last couple of years, downtown has really picked up as well with the new casino and other remodels and upgrades.  I've been to plenty of places in Boston, New York, Chicago, etc. where the people just haven't been friendly and the places suck, it doesn't mean the whole city does.  And frankly given the attitudes expressed in this thread it is no real surprise you were treated that well because you sure don't act real well.  Perhaps the poor reception was a result of your own poor attitudes.

I am from Ohio too.   I think CLE deserves some of the slack they get.  The city is not bad really it was in the 70's.   They had a river catch on fire once.  That has improved a great deal.   The lakeshore is nice and Lake Eerie ain't as bad as it once was folks.

The Clowns are a joke.   Their owner is a joke.   The Cavs are a joke.  Indians were great in 90's.   The fans tolerate losing very well and in football the Steelers have made great inroads in the state.   I have found most everyplace has good things and bad things but I am not one of those my state is best guys.

The Cavs need to stop turning over a $300M franchise over to 19 year old kids with no real education.

Hey, Banners, leave them kids alone.

Once, the river caught on fire a bunch, though it has been awhile.  It actually is fairly clean now, which helped lake tourism a great deal as well.  There are lots of good areas.  Little Italy is awesome.  By Case Western and the hospitals is pretty nice (the main Cleveland Clinic building structure is impressive if you've never seen it).  4th Street downtown has upgraded a great deal with a lot to do.  The Casino is pretty darn nice.  Not to mention there are some solid museums, zoos, etc.  Cleveland is a very nice city.  Lots to do.

I lived just outside Cleveland for about 8 years and have nothing but good things to say about the people there.  The friendliest I've met across the country.  And they are great fans who deserve better.

Like there is so much to do a lot of other places too.  Get over yourself guys, that kind of talk is annoying and insulting.

That's actually what freaks me out--the fact that people are friendly. Like, come up to you and ask you how you're doing on the street friendly.

That and all the seriously scary pro-life stickers, but that's a discussion for another forum.

Okay, sorry. I do take it back, it was rude for me to write those stuff.

I still stand by what I say when I went to the bar, I was treated very rudely. But I won't assume that applies to the rest of Cleveland.

I do feel bad for the City, that they have to deal with such a terrible basketball organization.

I bet. My mom offhandedly let it slip to me, many years after I became a card-carrying Floydian, that she'd seen The Floyd in '67 at or around the UFO, and that "they were ok, I guess?"

I was a portrait of jealousy. Still am.
