This is a tough one.  If he came through with a ring in '12, I'd say definitely, but right now I'm on the fence.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I lean towards yes.  The thing that sets him apart is how dominate he's been for the majority of his 7 seasons.

3x league scoring champ, on pace to be a 4x scoring champ (and let's throw in a 2nd place finish too).  Only Jordan, Wilt, George Gervin, and Iverson have done it more (and if he finished most of this season and got that 4th scoring title, then he'd by tied (with Gervin and Iverson) for 3rd most all time).

And he's also a 4x All NBA First Team member.  There's 26 players with 4 or more All-NBA first team selction who are HOF eligible, 25 of them are in the HOF.  Only 4x winner Max Zaslofsky (Who?  He played from '46 to '56) isn't.  If you go down to 3x winners, that adds 10 more guys, 9 are in the HOF (Paul Westphal being the exception).

When you think of guys who started off on the HOF track, but got derailed due to injuries, guys like Anfernee Hardaway, Grant Hill, Bill Walton, or Brandon Roy, those guys only really had 1 or 2 great season (if that), along with a few more good ones.  Kevin Durant has had 4 1/2 great seasons, along with playoff success (playing in more playoff games then other injured stars like Grant Hill, Tracy McGrady, Brandon Roy, or Bill Walton).

I think what's he's already accomplished in such a short period of time (mainly 3x times scoring champ, 4x All-NBA 1st team, some playoff success) is enough.  I can't think of anybody whose done more that that's not in the HOF.
