He can not do that per the collective bargaining agreement. You specifically cannot renegotiate your deal to take less money. He can retire and not play for a year, but that's not what he wants to do. He just wants to play basketball and win.
He's probably here for at least another year. People should just get used to him. When he has a bad game personally, he calls himself out to. He's a talker. It's good to have a guy like that on the team, so the shier players can be given their space.
