Given Houston's interest in Dunleavy, their desire to trade Motiejunas, and their previous desire to trade Asik could Boston step in to facilitate a three-way deal.

To Boston: Omer Asik, Donatas Motiejunas
From Boston: Brandon Bass, MarShon Brooks, Jordan Crawford, Clippers 2015 1st

To Houston: Brandon Bass, Mike Dunleavy, Clippers 2015 1st
From Houston: Omer Asik, Donatas Motiejunas, Houston 1st (2014 or 15 or 16)

To Chicago: MarShon Brooks, Jordan Crawford, Houston 1st (2014 or 15 or 16)
From Chicago: Mike Dunleavy

Why for Boston: They finally receive Asik, a defensive-minded center in an alteration of the Bass, Lee, Clippers 1st that went around early. They also shed Bass' contract. The trade also puts us at -12 wins for the tankers out there.

Why for Houston: They relieve themselves of Motiejunas and Asik acquiring a stretch-4 in Bass and a backup to Harden they so desire in Dunleavy.

Why for Chicago: This is the biggest hurdle as the Bulls are high on Dunleavy. This move allows more minutes for Snell who the Bulls are also high on while gaining a pg in Crawford allowing possible Hinrich trades. They gain a prospect in Brooks and also a 1st rounder out of it. They might in an alteration of the trade also gain the Clippers 1st if Houston really wants Dunleavy. Also, as Brooks and Crawford are unrestricted free agents they could be seen as expiring contracts for Chi-town freeing up cap space.

According to http://www.tankathon.com/ Houston currently has the 24th pick in the 2014 draft and Chicago currently has the 16th and 17th pick which might improve with the departure of Deng. Having 3 draft picks might help facilitate draft night trades or in-season trades though.

Please feel free to comment, criticize and leave suggestions to the trade as I'm unsure what Chicago would want in the deal.

I was going to propose something like this, but include Heinrich (to Houston) and not Crawford.  A key idea would be Chicago possibly getting all the way out of the luxury tax.  I'd also simplify it and have a pick from the Celtics going straight to Chicago and have Houston send one or more of their second round picks to the Bulls.

And you'd probably get more responses if you include some of the players involved in your subject line.

Thanks for the comment. I like your proposal as well. The picks were my biggest issue as I didn't know the appropriate compensation. I do know that Boston would have to send out a 1st rounder and Houston would have to give up picks.

An alteration of the trade would see Hinrich going to Houston. Check out the trade:

Isnt the pick that got the Asik deal stalled?

Are we going to be willing to give up a 2014 1st? At this point, I would.

The way Brooklyn is playing right now, I'd give that pick to Houston (a top 18 protected though) to land Asik right now.

You are correct. But in that deal it was Bass and Lee. In this case they get Bass and Dunleavy who they really want, and why they might have to give up a 1st or a couple of 2nds. I would be reluctant to give up a 1st in a good draft, the top 18 protection is a good thought, but even at 20 there are some good prospects.
