Celtics get Pierce's 15 Mill expiring deal. Yes we are allowed to reacquire him, works on the trade machine and KG and Terry don't and are marked as such.

Cav's Get Bass/Lee/Kelly

I added KO because taking Bass and Lee is a big service and it's worth dumping a mediocre prospect imo.

BK gets Bynum to replace Lopez for the season. They have AK-47 so losing a struggling PP isn't much of a problem.

That's an error in the trade machine.  We're not allowed to reacquire Pierce.

This ''error has been there all season. While Pierce and Terry clearly say no reacquiring. It could be the way Pierce's last year was non guaranteed than allows us to reacquire him?

Nope.  Just an error.  Even if Pierce were released we could not sign him.  The Captain cannot return until next year.  Sad, but true.

I was a big Paul Pierce fan and still am, but I don't want him back in Boston even if it cost us nothing.  If we sign him to a 10 day contract, he plays one game, then retires, I'm fine with that, but I don't want Paul Pierce here for a season or even 1/2 a season.

The Big 3 era has passed.  I enjoyed it, but I am completely over it and looking ahead.  Now, I am entirely invested in the new celtics era ahead of us.  It is a new offense that I'm enjoying and I appreciate watching our young players grow each week in it.  Pierce wouldn't fit into the new offense, he wouldn't help us contend, and he would only be a setback in the development of our new era ahead of us.

ESPN info is clearly not reliable. Brooks is still listed as a 2-year contract, even though we declined his option this summer.

ESPN's info is not always reliable, but still.. we can not bring back KG or Paul until next season.  We could sign Paul as a free agent and trade for KG in the summer.  But until then, we can't bring them back to Boston in any way.

It's a rule going back to when we traded Gary Payton to Atlanta and then a month later he was back in Boston.  They closed the loophole.

Agreed. It might just be depressing to watch.

Horrible trade even if possible. PP is pretty cooked right now, Bass and Lee could help you get a better and younger player. And no way would I want to give up on KO right now, only a couple months into the season.

I would love to see PP back in Boston, but not in a trade like that.

You can not re-acquire a player you traded for up to a year after the trade.
