I love Sanders. Gotta go with him. Think Asik has reached his peak, Sanders has unlimited potential.

Sanders. Locked in for long enough at a young age to be a major cog in rebuilding. And a better fit with Rondo, assuming he stays.

Both are offensively inept which means what do you value more, overall defense or shot blocking defense. I think Asik is the much better overall defender where Sanders isn't as great on the pick and roll or stronger enough to deny his defender out of his original post position thereby making his low post longer and harder to put down.

Sanders can definitely block shots though.

Sanders will be very costly for years to come whereas Asik is only valued at $8.4 million against the cap and expires after next year.

Given the recent attitude and behavioral problems both exhibited, Asik quitting on his team, Sanders bar fight and so forth, I think having someone on a shorter contract in case the attitude manifests itself into something worse would be smarter.

So I go Asik.

Based on their play: Rather have Sanders
Based on their contracts: Rather have Asik

Sanders has an awful contract, and is paid way more than he is worth.
Tough one to choose between the two.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

I'd take Asik - I think he's the more fundamentally sound of the two and just a better overall player. Sanders has more athleticism and the flashier block numbers,  but he's not a great defender on the pick & roll or one on one in the post.

And honestly, players that rely solely on athleticism without really understanding the game make me nervous.
