I'm surprised so many people hate this deal.

Crawford isn't a building block.  The chance to trade him for a #1 down the road would be a coup for us.

Miami may be a top contender in 2016, but who knows?  Maybe Lebron moves on, seeing the writing on the wall with a hobbled Wade.  If so, we potentially grab a lottery pick.

I'd move Crawford for *any* 2016 #1 in a heartbeat.

I think that we can certainly get more for Crawford than that!!  I realize that it is sometimes torture to watch Crawfish, but it might be better to hang onto him and see if he could potentially flourish in the sixth man role.  Besides, we all have NO idea when Rondo will be back and what he will look like.

I'm happy to make a TP bet with anybody that we don't get a #1 for Crawford.  He's not worth that, and 30 franchises in the NBA know that.  A 2016 first rounder from Miami or any other team would be a huge steal for us.

We cannot trade him now anyway.  What will we do then, go back to that incredulous Bradley at PG disaster or go with our 5'8" rookie PG??

That being said, why not simply see how Crawford takes coming off the bench as a sixth man once Rondo comes back.  If he flourishes in that role, sign him long-term to a multi-year 4-5 million per deal.  Isn't it worth waiting to see how it works out first??  A 28 to 30 pick probably does NOTHING for us.  Sure, you can bring up Perk, but great luck pulling that rabbit out of the draft hat again!!

i might trade crawford for a first-rounder in THIS year's draft, but not to miami. crawford' contract is VERY manageable, and i'm sure danny can find a better trade partner than that. there is also the strong possibility of some mega-trade sown the line, and danny might wait until then and move a bunch of pieces at once.

If somebody called up Danny and offered him a first rounder for Crawford, I think Jordan would be on a plane within a couple of hours.

I doubt Danny would hold onto Crawford just so we can avoid starting Phil Pressey at point guard for a month.

I like James Jones a LOT!!!  We are tied for 19th on three point FG %.  Jones shoots a NICE percentage from long range.
