His defense is apparently elite (top 5 points per possession apparently) and his mid-range game is hot as ever.Quote from: BleedGreen1989 on December 05, 2013, 07:24:12 AMWhile fans are of course not always an indication of what their FO will do, most Portland fans I've chatted with would be willing to give up Meyers Leonard/filler for Bass.Meyers has been racking up DNP-CD's and has people whispering the dreaded "B" word. He looks entirely lost out there on both ends of the court and is seeing very few minutes. He could become some kind of project for Brad Stevens. My source (aka me) would almost guarantee he is moved this season for some "win now" help.I think Brandon Bass would be a perfect fit and could really boost what has been a very average defensive team and he could play with LMA or Lopez. I have no interest in T-Rob ever becoming a competent NBA player so I would pass on your deal.Wow. I was gonna say maybe Bass + 1st pick would land us Leonard + filler (maybe a low risk-medium reward prospect?).And I agree with the sentiment that T-Rob alone won't cut it for Brandon Bass.Bass AND a first for Leonard?? I was definitely thinking that Portland would have to add the first, not us. Leonard will be lucky to ever one day be as good as Bass and their first will be pretty low this year. Bass is in his 'prime' and is a perfect player for any team looking to make a run. If I am trading Bass, I am not giving up any picks unless we are obviously upgrading for the future.Well, not following the Blazers, I didn't know he was looking like a bust. Leonard was, after all, a lotto pick from a pretty deep, strong draft.Bass for Leonard I'd do. Bass for Leonard and a first I'd very much do. But, Leonard's value is basically pure fan speculation, so who knows. Just like how I* knew Fab Melo was bad but I* didn't think he was going to be straight up waive material.Yeah, I mean he's only 21 so it's too soon to call him a bust but he was demoted to 3rd string center after camp behind Robin Lopez and Joel Freeland and has appeared in a total of 20 minutes this season. Part of that is due to an illness, but still. He has great physical tools and is a legit 7'1. I was a big fan when he left Illinois, but he may be an example of a player who left college a year too soon. He would be a reclamation project I'd take on though and hope Brad Stevens can figure him out.

Something like this will happen at the deadline. We have too many PFs.
No tanks we're getting to little of Bass ( I don't believe in this Robinson Kid). Bass value is good this year but at the right time next year, to the right team, he'll be gold. We should wait to sell him at a higher price.

If you are holding out for an expiring contract and a first, you are probably being unrealistic in your demands.
Interesting: Portland doesn't own a 2nd rounder, either their own or anyone else's, through 2018.Charlotte owns the rights to their lottery-protected 2014 1st rounder as well.http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailedI can't imagine Portland giving up both Robinson and Leonard for Bass, but if Ainge could swing it, I'd be on board.

And we'd also cut 800K in salaries. Great trade for the Cs if the Blazers are willing to make this deal.

As he is a serviceable big man to start along or backup Aldridge
