Am I the only guy on here who legitimately likes Wallace!?! Is he over paid for his production? Yes BUT the dude deserves every penny he has earned it and will pay for it in the long run...the dude's nickname was Crash for crying outloud! He prly has had a dozen concussions in his 12 seasons...see the nfl for what that can do to a guy. He has played hard his entire career and you could always count on that and him. And he expects that from his teammates......don't see the hype or criticism for him speaking out when they don't give it their all. He has played 12 seasons playing full speed and full energy and has made a name and reputation for himself and now he is on the bench on a rebuilding team.......sounds like a dream come true.....even better  add the fact that people say he is more of a trade chip than any thing else to the team...smh....looking at this team he is the only vet and mature guy on the team....bogans doesn't play and rondo is hurt..   wallace is our leader and we NEED him to help develop these guys ask gerald henderson how wallace has helped him. It kinda strikes a nerve when I hear and see people rippin a dude who really hasn't done anything wrong...he didn't ask or pick to be in this situation but he is trying to make the most of it! So get off his back bc he doesn't deserve that!

And no I'm not a lifelong wallace fan. Didnt follow him his entire career but I have always respected him and liked his style of play and attitude....the nba needs more of it btw....

Just my random thoughts and 1:30 am rant...sorry if it bored you or was a waste of your timejust been wanting to say this for awhile....

GO CELTICS!!!  ;D

He's a decent complimentary player who can pass, shoot well, and play defense.

Much of the negative criticism coming toward Gerald Wallace on this forum is from people who think we can trade Bass, Lee and Humphries for Lebron James. They just dont take the time to see what he does for the team beyond Points and Rebounds. Losing also doesnt help.

If this team starts really winning in a year or so with him in the rotation, we will see a seismic shift in attitude from much of this frustration. He will still be an overpaid veteran who is on the downslope of his career and a reputation for being an effort guy.

If anyone on this roster does, Gerald Wallace closely matches the type of player Red would have liked IMO. I think that if drafted by the Celtics, he would have been a lifelong guy like Pierce. Can the money from his salary be better spent? Sure, but we also could have worse contracts instead from less productive players.

I like Gerald, I would like him more if he was paid in the 5-6 Million range.   He plays hard but some times it looks as if he is being passive aggressive against the team.   Some nights he won't shoot for instance.

I could do less with the calling out the team.   Maybe he didn't get the memo on tanking or this was a down year for us?

I think Gerald is similar to KG in not having the ability to turn it off. Not saying he is KG but competitive wise he is all in no matter what. If you want him to take a nite off then dont dress him is the coaches dilema.

I do agree with the not calling the team out in the media.

In the locker room is fine though.

I like the way he hustles and the energy he brings but he seems to make too many bad passes and turnovers.

I've enjoyed watching Gerald Wallace since he got liberated from the King's bench by the Charlotte expansion draft.

The fact that he's talking to the media doesn't bother me. These dudes have to answer questions and be available to answer questions or else they get hit with fines.

He's definitely on the tail-end of his career, and his contract is a prime example of being paid for past production, but I think the KG "always on" comparison is very accurate.
