I am very encouraged by the way this team has defended to start the season. There was a lot of concern about this roster's capabilities on the defensive end. Many thought that the lack of elite interior rim protectors would doom us to being one of the worst defensive teams in the league. So far that hasn't been the case. The team looks like it will carry on the tradition established over the course of the past five seasons of taking pride in playing well on the defensive end of the floor.
This is a very good sign. I am convinced that the offense will continue to improve, and will improve even more once Rondo returns. If we can keep being a strong defensive team, I definitely think this team will be capable of being one of the eight teams from the Eastern conference that will be playing in the playoffs.
