... is there something wrong with noting that he has three core players in Paul, Griffin, and Jordan?  Not seeing what's so silly with this comment.

"LOL HE THINKS THERE ARE THREE PLAYERS THAT ARE MOST CRITICAL TO HIS TEAM"

 ???

"Big Three" implies that Doc believes the three core players on his current team are on par with the trio he had in Boston, or the trio in Miami, or the trio in San Antonio.

Deandre Jordan is just not nearly on the same level as any of the other players in those groupings.

Big Three used to mean more than that, as in three perennial All-Stars on one intimidating team.  (E.g., Walker and Pierce were never two-thirds of any 'Big Three'.)

It actually used to mean more than that. Bird/McHale/Parrish, in addition to being perennial All-Stars on one intimidating team, were actually all "bigs".

And Jordan+Pippen+Ball boy was one of the best Big Threes of all time!

Teams don't have to have a 'big three'. This has become so cliche since the KG trade. If you do have one, they better all be all stars, if not HOF caliber. Otherwise, don't focus on 3.

I must disagree with the Jordan Pippen plus ball boy reference.

The Jordan teams always had a third guy.

Horace Grant, Dennis Rodman, Bison Dele, and Toni Kukoc on those championship teams were just as valuable as Chris Bosh.

Thank you. I'm sick of all these fake "big threes" out there now. There is only one true big three.

Thing is we've had lot's of great teams that had three great players on them. Most great teams do. But we've only had on true "big three" and that's because all three of them happened to be not only good but big too.
All these new Big Threes aren't big. A SG isn't big.

Another day, another Ogaju thread about Doc.

He's just trying to talk up Jordan. Jordan's confidence has to be pretty sketchy given that: they almost traded him, he's been benched during 4th quarters, and fans have really unloaded on him about his contract.

I think the Clippers are a legit contender.  I don't know about a "big three," but they certainly seem like they have one of the most talented "big two"s in the league.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Exactly.  Rivers is going to have to figure out how/if he can play Jordan in crunch time.  Seems all this cheerleading is to that end.

Agreed. They remind me of a JV Peyton+Kemp.
