Here's a hint. Typically he is taller than every player he is matched up against......

...  it is starting to get a little pathetic; he's never been good on the glass, but, MAN...  you get two or three a game just by standing there.  There was one nice tap that he had to someone (who got credit for the board), but to my way of thinking rebounding is one of the best "effort" measures - and he just isn't getting it done.

If Green isn't scoring, he isn't really helping out anywhere else.  I've been assuming we'd start both Green and Crash, but maybe they go with Crash at the 3 and Bass (who's had a very solid preseason) at the 4.  Maybe Crash and Sully.

It's getting time for Green to Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. or get off the pot; he better not be thinking that starting gig is guaranteed.

Every single front court player of the Knicks got at least 3 times as many rebs as he did last night....while he was in the process of going 3-12 with 3 TOs

My point is that the people saying we need to improve our rebounding, and that we need to make Jeff Green a bigger part of things.....have to choose one.  Either more Jeff Green and get outrebounded every single game, or less Jeff Green.  It may depend on your goals.

Jordan Crawford, Avery Bradley, and Pressey have all outrebounded Green in both of the last two preseason games.  Basically Jeffy is allergic to rebounds right now

I'm with you.  When you don't have a dominant rebounder, everybody's got to chip in.  We've been spoiled for a long time because Paul Pierce - for much of his career - was an exceptional rebounder at the SF spot.  We don't need Green to be exceptional, we just need him to grab his fair share.

But, we got dominated on the glass last year even with KG on the floor - everyone's got to step up a little to make up the difference.  So far, the guys who look like they're being fairly aggressive on the boards are Vitor and Bass, which is a big reason why I think they'll both find themselves plenty of minutes this year.

Yes, yes, we know -- being tall is all there is to rebounding. Where is Bruno Sundov when you need him.

You're being a bit over-dramatic. Have we been outrebounded in every preseason game? Did we get outrebounded in every game Green played big minutes in last year?

Why is there a thread nagging about how little rebounding Jeff Green is doing, but not one to celebrate how extra rebounding Brand Bass is?

I've mentioned it; Bass has been quietly very impressive so far.  I wouldn't be opposed to seeing him get the starting nod at the 4, with Green and Crash battling it out for the starting SF spot.  Bass has been hitting the glass, hitting his shots, and if he continues playing well he ought to have a modest amount of value to most contending teams - no reason not to showcase a guy, when he's earning a prominent spot in the rotation anyway.

No. Being tall is not all there is to rebounding. That is why Jeffy is consistently outrebounded by much smaller players
