This deal seems about right.  Sanders has quickly become one of the more overrated players in the league, but he is still a very good starting center, and that is what he is being paid as.
Overrated? I'm not so sure. I think people are just recognzing talented defensive big men aren't a common commodity. For a guy taken at 15th, I think he's surpassed expectations. Still, no one's calling him a possible All-Star. Yet.

They aren't?  I am pretty sure I have heard that thrown around.  And when you are talking $11 million a year, then I think the team must be thinking he is a possible All-Star.  That isn't sure fire All-Star money, but it is generally the going rate for a guy you think could be an All-Star.

I think center is the one position where spending $11 million doesn't mean you expect an All-Star.

A capable starter who can be the focal point of your defense? Yes.

Marc gasol only makes a hair under 13m per annum. Still rather spend 11 mil on sanders than pay deandre Jordan similar money

Agreed. Asik, Noah, Chandler and Ibaka - even Jordan - are all somewhat similar in that they are *at best* borderline All-Stars, and limited offensively, but they are all making similar money.

Right, they are all borderline allstars.  Which is my point.  The Bucks expect Sanders to join that same group.
