With Olynyk, what i've seen is that, teams are putting fast more athletic guys on him. They are usually about 6'9, 6'10. No oquinn the 1st game, no plumlee today

Vs Mitchell yesterday which was a test, bc he is quick on his feet, strong, athletic and today another set of mitchell like defenders. And against whoever he has produced so far. He figures out a way

I like it when he makes a quick decision and either makes a quick spin, running hook or turnaround J. I hope he also develops a fade left turnaround jump shot.

It's a hit or miss though he he has been trying to fake out his man underneat the basket when posting up. Its slow and by the time he gets ready to shoot a help defender is there.   In the nba he needs to do this faster or make sure he has alot of room.

his jump shot has looked good again and right now he lacks consistentcy from the three. 18 ft jump shot is consistent though.

A great pickup no doubt. Basics, raw skills, effort is there. He just needs needs more experience and develop a better body (1st Colton Iverson like 2nd Kevin Love like).

Like Sam Mitchell said in a few years 18/8 is not out of the question. He is on his way.

Melo won't be cut, but I'm quite certain Ainge will be pushing to include him in future deals.

He's just headed right back to the d-league.

If he's in any deals it's for filler purposes right now.

Melo with Giddens, JJJ , Gerald Green have been his worse pickups. All have two things in common, athletic but avg to low bbiq

I hope Danny learns his lesson.

KO is a stat stuffer. Every game now , pts, rebounds, assists, steals (except today), 1 block shot a game.

Best stat is the +15 to lead all players.

I never heard that rap on JJJ.

I don't even think it's basketball iq. Or effort. All of those guys have just shown a very poor capacity to learn.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

I'd say Melo has improved a lot since we first drafted him.

He's a foreigner, but he wants to learn, so you shouldn't knock him too much. He played well on D, even though he air balled a hook shot...

I think the lesson is, give Danny a lottery pick and he absolutely nails it.  The mid to late round picks are crap shoots, which is expected considering where these guys were drafted.

Regardless, for every Melo theres a Rondo, for every Giddens theres a Tony Allen, for every Gerald Green theres a Perkins.

Danny's done one helluva job and knows the only way to get back on top is through the draft.

Way too simplistic.  Avery Bradley and Tony Allen fit that mold as well.  Furthermore, Green, Johnson were traded to bring in other players.  It is unclear how they would have fared if they had stayed to develop.

How many lottery picks have Ainge even had?  Green was probably a Seattle pick and we moved up for Olynyk.  I think the lesson is no matter how good you are at drafting (Ainge, Presti etc.) you will have some misses.

This.

Everyone hating on these picks are acting like they were top 15 picks.

They are late rounds, sure we missed on a few but a lot of teams have their late first round picks not playing for any team as of now.
