Just a guess, which probably isn't surprising at all since a GM supposedly always wants to give his coach the players he covets (except in Chicago, apparently...), but seeing that the Clippers are trying to sign O.J Mayo and/or J.J Redick made me think that Doc already tried hard to get them when he was coaching the C's. It was rumored that the team was trying hard to get Redick and there was obviously the failed trade of Mayo for Ray (which would also explain the "war of words" between Ray and Doc, meaning that the alleged feud between Ray and Rondo was more between him and Doc).

I'm pretty sure Terry was his idea and it was also made public that he was the one that lured in Lee from his chance encounter in Orlando.

Either that or he's just leaning on the opinions of Danny and Danny's scouting staff.
