PG - Rondo, (backup PG), Pressey
SG - Bradley, C.Lee, M.Brooks
SF - J.Green, Bogans, K.Joseph
PF - G.Wallace, Sullinger, Bass
C  - Humphries, Olynyk, Fab Melo

15 man roster.

Discarded = the China guys and Jordan Crawford

Am I too crazy to think that's a competent roster, a potential nightmare for some?

Not at all crazy. TP. I've been saying this whole week that we can and will remain competitive with Rondo and Green as our stars.

I think Lee could get shipped but I wouldn't be surprised if Danny gave him one more chance this season to see if he can contribute. If he does, he could be a piece kept for our future contending team. If not, he is definitely gone.

I think two out of three of Bass, Humphries, and Lee go, as they've some value and they'll clear up space.  Presuming we're getting the Italian guy and Danny can't dump Wallace, I see Joseph as a likely casualty as well.  My personal hope is that Crawford goes.

Also, Iverson I think probably plays better and is ahead of Melo in the rotation.  Melo may have another year up in Maine.  Bogans and Wallace may be the two grizzled vets.

Then again, there's the whole question as to whether Rondo goes.  I do wonder what Danny will manage to pull off this month.

Zero chance they'll waive Crawford. That is completely crazy. Roster cleanup means everyone who's non-guaranteed will go, barring any other trades.

I see them trying to move bass or humphries for sf or center help, or draft pick and vet pg.
power forward we are log jammed, as are things in the east we need lebron defenders so i think wallace gets the nod, might be better to keep his expiring since his trade value now is super low
i see sully as the starter of the power forwards, wallace and give you both forward minutes

who stays:
green, sully, rondo
rather they stay unless good deal:
bradley, olynyk, lee, shav

who goes:
joseph unless he shows he can give meaningful minutes, melo is in maine or gone, crawford, dj white has no spot

I'm torn on whether the new coach ought to play Wallace and Humphries at all.  I don't think anybody is going to take them off our hands for what they do on the court.  Hump is an expiring and Wallace's contract might as well be industrial toxic waste.

I think it's important during a rebuild to instill the young players with the belief that they have to earn to get and keep their minutes in the rotation.  Force-feeding minutes to Olynyk, Iverson, and Melo would go against that.  As would playing Brooks ahead of Wallace to back up Green.

On the other hand, doing so would aid our ultimate cause.  Develop future assets and be bad this year to get a nice pick.
I think Wallace might actually be movable if he gets any sort of return to form.  We aren't getting anything of great value, but I could see a team that has no cap space and will have no cap space during the life of his contract finding some value in him.  A team like the Knicks, for example, could use some of Wallace's skill set.  They won't give up anything good for him, but we might be able to get some filler that shaves a year of salary or something like that.  Of course that requires Wallace playing fairly well.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - Noah, G. Wallace, Melo,
Deep Bench -

Waiting for July 12. From there, we could say who stays and who goes.

My hope is that Rondo, Green, Bradley, Sully, Brooks, Wallace, Lee, Melo, Olynyk and Iverson stay. I see the others getting shipped out for better players (I think Humphries, Bogans and Bass could net us something big).

I think Bass and Lee start and see big minutes, if for no other reason than to show case. They could both be "missing piece" type guys for a playoff team. Bass would be a solid 4 for many teams and Lee can be a shooter/defender off the bench.

One through four, I think this team is going to be really good. Both in terms of the starting lineup and the depth available at each position.

It is just that five spot. It is so weak defensively.

We could live with a four man manning that backup five position but they need a real starting center in there to shore things up. I think that is easily a 40-45 win quality team if they can find that player.

Robin Lopez was mentioned in another thread. I think he'd be a fantastic addition.

To me it's way too early to come up with a 15 man roster plus most teams do'nt carry a 15 man roster.  AInge is going to make at least 1 or 2 mutli-player trades but it just depends who he can trade.

I would say I don't think Joseph makes the team.  We dropped him last year and he didn't show much with the Nets either, not that he had much of a chance.  At this time we will keep Randolph, White and Joseph around for possible trade filler, but these 3 have non-guaranteed contracts and could go at any time ( I personally wouldn't mind seeing them keep Randolph as a backup Center). I would honestly look for at least 2 of Lee, Bass, Brooks, Crawford  and maybe Humphries to be moved...

Not necessarily a big guy. Was talking for a big transaction to net us more players due to the size of their contracts. For example, we could move them to net us EGordon and Robin Lopez.

I guess this counts as another fail for Internet sarcasm then... (and no, no-one's going to give you a Robin Lopez for Bass).
