For the first time in his career Jeff Green is going to be playing starter minutes and will be one of our "go to guys" until we bring in a bigger name "go to guy".

I am very interested to see what Jeff Green does this season.

I wouldn't be surprised if he average 20 points, 6-7 boards, 3-4 assists and a steal or two.

I'm optimistic

He has played starter minutes plus in most of his seasons.

You're right on his minutes but I am very curious to see how Green handles being the unquestioned #1 option and not playing second-fiddle to Kevin Durant or Paul Pierce.

Not sure how optimistic I am, but very curious.

The downfall of the Nets will be sleepy Joe J. Man he was so good but I think he's garbage now especially with that contract. Pierce will need Joe, but Joe will be a no show. Let's hope D Will is awesome this year.

it would actually being pretty easy to argue that Pierce is better Johnson...who is 5 years younger...chew on that for awhile...it's one of 2 things...either Pierce is better than people are giving him credit for...or...johnson is worse than most people think...i would say it's both...and...although Pierce's decline is noticeable...it is also exaggerated...

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I think seven years into his career, it's time to give up the fantasy of Jeff Green's "potential."  He is and will be what he has been his entire professional career, average.

It's as if you didn't even watch the 2nd half of last year (and the playoffs). It's not about him reaching his potential, which is certainly well above average. It's whether or not he can sustain it. I imagine with this current team, he should be able to average 20ppg, but I suppose that is just *yawn* average.
