  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
His injury hasn't been the problem the past year. Its just his mental stability. If he's truly ready to endure the rigors of one NBA season playing about 21 minutes or more, then I'd be hopeful that DA at least grabs him on a team option contract.

Oden when healthy can at least put up 10+ PPG, and 7.0+ RPG which our team desperately needs. Plus he's a dominant Center, and not a stretch 4.

i'd be happy to see him come here. He can ease his way back to playing shape, and playing in the NBA. Once he does that, since he's on a bad team, his value will likely increase. Then we can either not sign him if his injury problems are too severe, use him in a trade (or sign-n-trade) if he's a serviceable role player, or maybe keep him if he shows to be a true starting-quality center in this league.

He would be a tremendous piece if we could get him for the right price
The right price being the vet min, one year guaranteed, second year team option. You absolutely cannot give this guy any more than that unless/until he proves himself healthy (not to mention proving he's still a good player after all this time off).

Would be interesting, but the source only says that he 'has received' interest from all those teams--doesn't seem to be that current to me.  The C's now kind of desperately need to clean up their salary situation before they can realistically hope to reel him in, I'd think.

I don't see how on earth he has value to a title contender.

I mean if his goal is to sit on the bench and get a ring mayne but if he is tryong to rejuvenatehis career dodoesn't make any sense.

Join miami as the only center? Doesn't seem lile the best thing for him.

I'd think he would want a no pressure situation where he can be brought along slowly, get a ton of attenttion from coaches and medical staff.

That's me. Who knows maybe he wants a ring handed to him or just wants to make as much money as possible.

I'm assuming his agent would be pushing him to play for a team that can really be flexible with his minutes which I would think would be a team not in title contention
I have the opposite opinion.  I think he may get lucky and stay fairly healthy for a season or two, but I don't think he'll stay healthy enough to benefit a rebuilding team long term.  Think 1986 Bill Walton.

The original quote says he's not physically ready to play yet.

Not worth tying up salary in him. He will likely command a mle type contract.  He is going to end up with the Heat IMO.

There's an unfortunate basis to what you say.
