I'd probably pick Carmelo if I had to pick anyone.  He makes them occasionally, but I'm generally not scared when the Knicks have the last shot and he has the ball in his hands.  I'm more scared of Smith.
Carmelo has been very clutch in the regular season but I can't think of too many moments that he has done that down the stretch in the playoffs.

His playoff tourneys have often been underwhelming.

I really think it's Dwight Howard.

He's the only superstar I know that I haven't seen make a key basket or a key play in a big game.

I could be wrong, but I can't remember him making any significant clutch plays whatsoever.

Reminds me of this

Dwight Howard has made many big defensive + rebounding plays down the stretch of tight games. I can't of think of too many baskets he has scored though.

That dunk on Tim Duncan was pretty special. All of 6 years ago though.

I tend to think of "unclutch" as disappearing, most recently  James Harden in last year's NBA finals.

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
In the case of a former NBA star, it's CWebb.  Not just because of the college stuff, but when things got tight for Sactown, it was all Mike Bibby.  CWebb was MIA.

In today's game, three come to mind: Deron Williams, James Harden, and Chris Bosh.

Tracy McGrady.

Hes a shell of his former self, but even in his prime that man could never do it in the playoffs

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Tracy McGrady.

T-Mac isn't not clutch because he was unsuccessful in the playoffs. Is Ray Allen any less clutch because he didn't garner more success in Seattle? What about Pierce, Melo, etc?

Besides, Tracy McGrady had probably the most clutch performance in the absolute history of the NBA.

People will remember him for it, and that will be the ultimate highlight in both his career and inspiring basketball fans all around the world.

Honestly, I would be impressed if you could look me right in the forum profile pic and tell me that T-Mac is the least clutch star in the NBA after watching the video.

Kobe. ;)

He's shooting 38.9% in six career Game 7s.

Nick Anderson because he let it affect him too much and wasn't able to bounce back.

I wonder how many posters have no idea what you're talking about.

A lot. The majority here seem to have not actually seen Jordan play, and think Magic was just ok.
