Anyone think Doc got an eye full on how the Clippers do business and asked "why am I going there?"

I don't really pay attention to the cap stuff, so let's say we do run it back, ie, keep KG and Pierce and just ride it out...What would our cap situation look like after next season.  Do KG and Paul's contracts expire the same off-season?  Help a brother out

@Wdleehi

Your signature reads, "Running the Clippers with Redz."

You both are probably doing a better job than Sterling and the rest of that organization with your own version of the Clips.

I don't see how any of this makes the C's or Ainge look bad.  They tried to get assets for a Coach and player in his last year (my favorite player by the way).  Doc clearly isn't interested in coaching this team with out KG and Pierce.  The Clippers are the ones who look awful.  If any of the reports are accurate DA asked for a lot...as he should, but the Clippers gambled wrong every time.  They blew an easy deal...then got the star player involved to get the deal done and then gambled again.  They clearly thought they had the position of power...and clearly they were wrong.  Would the C's have a faster rebuild with DeAndre and picks? Probably but in the end KG retires = cap room,  Paul Pierce trade/retires = cap room, Doc goes to TV = we still own his rights = draft pick from someone.

As I said before I hope CP3 walks....

Free-agent star Chris Paul pushed the Clippers to hire Rivers as coach, but will have to settle for Lionel Hollins, Brian Shaw or Byron Scott if he plans to re-sign with Los Angeles in July. Paul is unhappy with the fallout over the failed deal, sources told Yahoo! Sports on Friday night.

Good job Clippers, not only did you lose out on nabbing Doc most likely CP3 too. Him bailing on them is easy now. He'd get no heat for doing it either.

Now let's hope the Clips don't get Hollins, Shaw, or Scott!

Gonna enjoy listening to Doc calling games with Breen and JVG next season.
Yeah, I like those Inside Trax segments on national telecasts, too.

If you don't bring back PP there is no sense in keeping Doc or KG.

With all those guys gone, Rondo don't want to be part of a bottom feeding team, his attitude going to be highly toxic, he's gonna want out too.

Good for Doc...while the Clippers are talented, their FO and especially ownership leave something to be desired.

If Doc wants to coach the Cs next year, that's fine by me.  He only expressed interest in the Clips after it was offered to him, if we are to believe the reports, which I do; if Doc wanted to go, but Danny/ownership wanted him to stay, they could have simply said no, and there would not have been discussions with the Clips at all.  I have a hard time believing that Doc said I will only coach elsewhere next year, but not here....why would we be in this current situation of coach the Cs or TV?

If we get the current crew, plus a mid-round draft pick, and maybe a FA, I like our roster:

KG/FA Big/Shav
Sully/Bass
PP/Green
Bradley/Lee/Crawford
Rondo/terry

With maybe a trade or two.

2 points:

1) trading KG and Paul will give us little....So I don't see the harm in letting them expire or retire;
2) I don't take last year as an indicator of how this roster could potentially play.   We under-performed last year, just as one could say we over-performed the year prior when we took the Heat to 7 without some key guys.  The roster above is a good one, especially if we could make it the the POs in relative good health.
