A 2nd round pick is a fair deal. If Danny manages to wiggle any more than that out of someone that will be one heck of a feat.

Clippers, or anyone else, shouldn't give up a first rounder for Doc.

so a late 2nd rd pick is equal to a top 3 coach now?

Right....

Like I said from the start, this going to be the same team as last season with a 16th pick on the roster
I doubt it. I think Pierce is gone, one way or another.

That would cause the dominoes to start falling.

I think they eventually will give it Danny holds all the cards. He knows Docs an asset look at Denver they offered a 1st

A late second round pick has minimal value. Nothing to worry about losing out on.

Danny might as well keep negotiating to try and get that first.

Value is in the eye of the beholder.  If Doc coming to Clips mitigates worry about CP leaving, then it's probably worth a late 1st don't you think?

Stern will do anything he can to screw the C's.   I wish I could meet him in a dark alley....

Its not even about the value of the pick we are getting back at this point. Its about the fact that the real prize in all of these talks for LAC was Doc and they were willing to give up DJ and 2 firsts to get him and KG.

Now they are trading only for Doc and suddenly its only worth a second round pick to them.

We went through all that stupid drama about the bigger deal only to get nixed by Stern and now instead of saying fine we will do half of the deal as previously negotiated (Doc for a first) and then we can work on the other deal later, the Clippers have decided to try and string this thing along further and make up an entirely new deal sending back less value.

Thats bullEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.. Plain and simple. They had a deal in place after lengthy negotiations and instead of taking the coach they considered to be the prize in the deal they negotiated so hard for they try to gouge Danny and embarrass their franchise.

Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. EM. Lets move on. Hopefully they lose CP3 and go back to irrelevance where they belong.

I don't think that is the case for them. I don't think the addition of Doc Rivers changes much at all about CP3's decision to stay.

Now whether they believe that to be the case or not is harder to tell. Who knows.

But me personally, I think is unnecessary and wasteful.

If I were to guess, I'd say you are correct -- that Doc coming to LA does not impact CP's decision to stay or go.  However, IF LA believes Doc ensures CP stays then Doc becomes more valuable to them and worth a higher ransom.
