As much as I hate to say it Judas deserves it, only reason this game 7 is even happening is because of him...

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
At least a couple of those game 7s came in the first round, though. It's kinda like in baseball where all of the old playoff marks were broken because of an increased playoff schedule.

I guess with Danny Green crushing all of his 3pt records, he needs something to hang his hat on.

These all-times playoff records based on games played are so heavily tilted toward the modern era.

The Celtics often played a total of two seven game series on their way to the title, in the 1960s - a division championship and the NBA finals.

In the modern era good teams will play four seven game series, and so twice as many games.

Nearly every leader in all-time playoff games played was in this year's playoffs, for example:

(Perkins is 20th all-time!)

9 of Ray's 10 previous game 7s came since the start of the 08 playoffs, he scored more than 15 in 2 of them , both in 2009. He's probably averaged 13 or so ppg in all of them.

Yeah seriously, he probably cost us the 2010 and 2012 series playing as badly as he did in those games.

Shouldn't game 5's when they were best of five or game 3's way back when count as well?

Yeah but Russell showed up for them all and played. Allen was just there for some.

He's really kicking butt tonight, scoreless in game 7 and sitting on the bench in crunch time. Maybe he shouldn't have taken this game so lightly.

All the Benedict Allen lovers are so happy tonight. Solid game by Ray with zero points. Though he did hit that three in game six. And then, the refs swallowed their whistles. I love the NBA, I love David Stern and I love the Miami Heat dynasty. So much fun. Heat should win at least two more while the Celtics hope for a lottery pick. YAY.
