they would rather take nothing because letting cp3 walk cleans up their salary to allow a max free agent to pair with blake griffin+bledsoe+pick, rather than taking 2 role players clogging up their salary

The contracts are what the Clippers are not willing to take on. Its not always about getting something in return. Especially if they don't want it. They would rather tank for 2014 probably like they are accustomed to doing. That's how they got Griffin.

Cause Miami had cap room and sent a trade exception. We don't have that so we would have to send back salary to match. His contract and give them some talent as well.

To me this looks like a trade done for the sole sake of doing a trade.
