I think he's still mad about Bird choking him.  ;D

no it is not overreaction at all. It is actionable slander. Infact since it has to do with professional reputation it is slander PER SE!!!

It's a ridiculous over-reaction to think that anything Dr. J might say would ruin Danny Ainge's pristine reputation as a man who never lies, killing potential trades he had on the table.

Arguably, Erving just accused Celtics and Lakers management over the years of just doing their jobs and trying to "win" trades.  So long as he's not accusing anyone of actual criminal acts, I don't really see the problem.

Are you going to suggest that KG should sue anyone who calls him a dirty player because you think it might cause him to gain a reputation as a dirty player that influences refs to call more fouls against him?

This is just part of the game and part of life.  While there may be a case that the league office should issue some form of sanction, suing is just a stupid idea.

If youre going to deal with the Celtics who are out natural rivals, or the Lakers, the two teams that have won the most championships in the NBA, they're always going to make deals where they get the better end of the deal. Thats been their history, thats how they presently are and that's how theyre going to be in the future.

Wait what? We all know Andrew Bynum is the model of great health. Just look at his track record!!!

Spanning '05 to '12 which is 7 seasons:

Games played = 46, 82, 35, 50, 65, 64, and 60.

So he's played over 70 games in one season...this guy is a true franchise keeper.

Every GM in the league would lock this guy up no questions asked!

Holy melodrama, Batman. Chill a little. It would be VERY hard for this to be actionable, since it would be hard to quantify the negative impact it had on the Celtics. You'd have to be able to point to a trade that would have happened but for the comment. Go ahead and find one. I'll wait. :-)

Meanwhile, Dr. J. is just p---ed about the Bynum fiasco. And, yeah, I'd be too if I were him; the Sixers got hosed. But I didn't see him complaining when he won a title after the Sixers stole Moses Malone from the Rockets for Caldwell Jones and the pick that became Rodney McCray.

Love the Doctor's game, but this is an absurd statement ... why would anyone go through with any deal if they didn't think they were getting the "better end" of it? Danny's overweight but he's not stupid.
