This is the summer where danny will make the changes that set the organization's direction for the future.
he realy has two choices, one more run, or blow it up.

I believe that his first choice is to make one more run, but he will not do so at the expense  of the future. this means KG, PP, and the young core of RR, Green and probably Sully are off the table.

In this scenario he will be looking for an impact big to pair with KG, PP, RR, green and/or sully.
this player either has to be on a short contract that expires around the same time as KG (zack randolph), so that a future complete rebuild is not hampered by albatross contracts.

Or the player has to be young enough to pair with our young core players and keep the c's in the mix beyond the KG era.
If he goes this route the player he brings in must be on a reasonable enough contract that we will be able to sign an impact piece  to bring us back to contender status after the KG era.
Big Al, Gortat, smith, cousins or milsap are all young enough and fit parts of this bill. Each has his pro's and con's, each is more or less attainable. that's all been discussed ad nauseum so i won't get side tracked attempting to it all up.

If Danny can't land the right player at the right price he will have no choice other than to kickstart the rebuild with a fire sale, tank, ping pong ball chasing, swan dive season.
I don't think he wants to take this route any more then we do.

but he knows that he is doing KG a disservice surrounding him with undersized bigs. As good a defender as KG is, he cannot be expected to orchestrate the D, run the floor, bang down low against far heavier centers and play the enforcer with out breaking down.

so this is it, decision summer. does danny find a player who fits the bill and is attainable with the scraps we have to offer? or does he bite the bullet and take the team down to the studs. its up to dealer danny.

I think the toughest thing for Danny is who will be our scorer after this era. Does he believe JG can carry the team in scoring the same way Pierce did? It's possible but it is in a mean time a big risk to take.
Let's see what Danny can find this month. The poor guy probably have a tough time to sleep. So many possibilities with many teams in the trade then will he be able to get the player he wants at the draft, and finally who will be available at the FA. Lot of "if" scenarios. He needs luck during that time. He has my respect, tough job...

Yeah I'm a fan of a complete blow up but ill understand if they give it one more run. I'd just rather have a shot at wiggins or Parker.

Bt if we do go the retool route, I like bringing in a shorter term guy if possible, I'm a fan of bringing in Zac Randolph even if we have to move Pierce. It just gives us a better shot at actually winning..maybe a 25% chance in stead of a 10% chance...and the rebuild can start as soon as KG hangs em up.

That being said, if we did get Josh Smith or Milsap on a reasonable deal, they'd be very traceable when the blow up time comes....

Danny has a very hard job, so much luck is involved. So much of his legacy went crumbling down hill when KGs knee went in 2009. We'd probably be looking at 3 titles or more. What if David West signed here like we all thought was a done deal in 2010 offseason? Imagine him against the Heat instead of Bass...
Very tough when you make the correct decisions but one small piece of luck changes everything. Very hard game of poker, and the best players are usually the most intelligent whilst being the most aggressive like poker..luck plays a factor in everything.

Is a chance to upgrade the team using free agency factor. So, let see David West and JJ Redick, plus reducing the salary ok PP+KG? This will upgrade the team...But depend on what is the real goal of DA...If he will stay in the same stiuation, not making changes?
