Doesn't love basketball. Nearly as many knee problems as Greg Oden. Well, maybe not nearly as many, but certainly a lot. What is he up to, 5 knee operations? It's like Amare but much earlier in his career.

Speaking of Oden. Please take a gamble at a fraction of the cost. Bynum will get highly overpaid and only deliver a healthy season or two.

Personally....I would rather take the gamble on Greg Oden for cheap money and the same risk of never playing than pay Bynum, who quite clearly does not take his basketball career seriously, a very expensive contract.

The other thing is, the best the Celtics could do is a sign and trade so if you want to give up healthy assets for the chance to have someone who may never play for you, that's what it is going to take.

Yup. I'm not against signing Bynum to a contract. I am against signing/acquiring Bynum if its a multi-year max contract, and especially if we have to surrender viable assets (lookin at you, draft picks, Avery Bradley, and Jared Sullinger) to get him.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
Although the Celtics aren't exactly Saints, I look at the Celtics as the good guys. Guys with Class and Championship Pedigree. Celtic Pride. Celtic Mystique. Team Spirit, Ubuntu, KG, Pierce, Rondo, Doc, Bird, Parish, McHale, The Chief, even Ainge. Just blood and guts and glory. The Celtics stand for everything I want in a team.

I don't see Bynum in ANY part of that. I see a me first kind of person and a cheap shot artist which overshadows his obvious imposing talents. I just see bad guy.

When I think Bynum, I think thug. Even healthy I don't want him. I'd rather we just suck without him than be good with him.

OK, you're crazy.

why would you want an injury-prone, slacker that expects max money to play a game he doesn't want to play?

The team that signs him will come to regret it before the first year is finished on that contract.

I'd rather sign more big men from the Chinese league than hand Oden a MLE contract.

I'd give him a MLE, but definitely not a "max contract"

Don't want Bynum.  He's a huge injury risk.  Looks like he is going the way of Jermaine O'Neal.  Also he wants a max contract when he's not on the level of guys like DH or even Marc Gasol imo.

I'd take the gamble on him, albeit a mere 1 or 2 year contract.
