Through the draft, through FA, through europe we need to stop adding anymore finesse, non physical players and instead add players that don't mind/thrive in physical play (center to pg)

When i look at what Indiana did to NYN in game 1, the #1 thing i thought was, how come we weren't even 50 percent that physical? Hibbert was happy to battle Chandler down low, David West just roughed up Anthony on both ends, Stephenson was physical on JR Smith etc.

New york before the half finished was in foul trouble. A nice little comeback in the end, but by the third the game was pretty much over.

Lets rewind to the 2008 celtics team. This team had skilled guys like Rondo, Ray Allen, Pierce but also blue collar players in James Posey, Pj Brown, Tony Allen, Glen Davis, Sam Cassel.

Forward to 2012 celtics team and the most physical player  that is capable of making an impact for the team is oldtime leader kg. Pierce pretty physical back in the day reverted to being more of a jump shooter. Jeff Green finesse, Bass looks like a beast but is not that physical, AB is physical but for some reason wasn't until the 4th quarter of the last game. Lee kind of soft , jason terry jump shooter.

So for 2013-2014 season unless you get a complete stud finesse scoring machine, we have to get two or three players that will battle down low like perk/sully, players that will post up and bang their way to the basket for buckets, players that are fearless and will drive in able to draw foul or finish on contact.

Some candidates that fit this criteria from the

nba draft
pf/c: Mason Plumlee, Jackie Carmichael, Withey, Adams
F: Andre Roberson, Jamaal Franklin, Livio Jean-Charles, James Ennis
G: Pierre Jackson, Cj Mcollum, Schroeder, Kabango

FA
pf/c: Ivan Johnson, Maxiel, David West, Blair, Milsap, Hickson
F: Pietrus, Josh Smith, Corey Brewer, Matt Barnes
G: Nate Robinson, Will Bynum, Jarrett Jack, Barbosa, Tony Allen

Europe
PF/C: Dorsey

I think more than physical players we need guys who can get buckets. Our offense has been our downfall for a while. As Bill Russell said "this game is and always will be about getting buckets"
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

We need both physical players and scorers.

We need a crazy guy too.

Every championship team has a legit crazy guy.

But if you had to choose, physical play is a more immediate need.

How many offensive rebounds would of helped us ? If we had a guy who can drive and finish on contact, how would of that helped us?

Yeah getting a guy who can score and be physical would be nice, but that is also a premium player. A top 10 pick or a premium FA. Celtics prob won't have that kind of money to get a guy like that. We have enough talented scorers and need rotational, fill in starters that is willing to do the dirty work.

If we had someone like K-Mart or Reggie Evans in this team, we would have won 5 to 9 more games.

I agree. Crazy but not stupid or immature. It's been a while also we had guys that were willing to dive into the stands to save a possession. I guess i'm describing Dennis Rodman here.

Did Rodman get any minutes on the 2007-08 team?  ???
Jeff Green - Top 5 SF

"I've always said J. Green is going to be one of the best players to ever play this game"

Any team would love to have a Dennis Rodman-type player.
With that said, I'd love to have one of any of these players

Kenneth Faried
Reggie Evans
Anderson Varejao
Joakim Noah
Tyler Hansborough
Nikola Pekovic
Greg Smith
Ivan Johnson
