Alternatively, if KG returned... would Bass + Lee + Terry + Sully + our 1st rounder (#16 pick) ... total of 18.1 mil... be enough to land Pau Gasol and his 19 mil expiring contract?

What about Andre Iguodala? Denver has a logjam at 3 and could use the depth at other positions. Throw in the pick and why not?

Denver seem to be fairly high on Iguodala. He really improved their defense this past season. Defensive eFG% went from 20th in the league to 13th + overall defensive efficiency up from 20th to 11th. Iggy was credited as the key for that improvement.

Denver want to hold onto Iguodala.

I think the only way they would lose him if they were priced out of the negotiations but then you would have to pay Iggy around $15 million a season. And even then, you would have to give up something valuable to get Denver to agree to a sign and trade. Probably Jeff Green + Sullinger. I don't think J.Green would be enough by himself because they already have Gallinari + W.Chandler there.

Seems like a difficult one to pull off.

Bass has value for a team that sees its road to the title going through the Knicks and Heat and needs someone who can guard Carmelo and Lebron.

I think something like Bass and Lee plus whatever Chinese leaguers are need to balance salary for Carlos Boozer might make sense from Chicago's perspective, but I am not sure what assets the Bulls can throw in to make it a good trade for Boston.  Maybe Bass and Lee (or Terry) to the Nets for Mirza Teletovic and either Gerald Wallace or Kris Humphries.

bass for varejao

a bad trade for us with Varejao being so injury prone and one the Cavs wouldn't make either.  I think you could trade a couple of them but not all 3 together, they are decent talents but no team needs all 3 together unless you're taking on a terrible contract..

I think you're missing the point.  The team that would want Bass is an Eastern Conference team that thinks it has a shot at a title.  The Cavs are not that sort of team.
