I hate this stuff.  These guys go out all the time.  Their workday is at night.

The chances of going out the night before the game actually having an effect on Smith are very slim.

Super disagree. What an ignorant statement. The guy isn't 18 years old

What does that mean?

He is a professional athlete, in tremendous shape, and he (presumably) goes out on a very regular basis.  Do you think he can't handle staying out late and having a couple drinks?  Do we know that he was binge drinking or anything?

These guys live a schedule very different than the most of us.  Even the NBA players who don't go out, are up very late every night.  Their internal clocks are entrained to be up late.  This is why early games generally are terrible.

So, staying out late doesn't really affect them, and if plenty of people can handle a few drinks and recover by the next night.

I agree with you. We don't know whether he had two drinks or 12.

I still am enjoying all the fuss. I think all of this extracurricular nonsense only helps the C's.

I do wish Crawford had kept his yap shut.

I doubt he was having "a few drinks" . Looks like he is downing champagne bottles to me, 1 of 3 clubs he went to that night .

So lets say he had the equivalent of about 8 beers at the least

That's a pretty precise estimate based on one picture. I hope you're not a trial lawyer.

Drinking champagne and wearing white?  Maybe he was throwing a wedding before last night's "funeral".

Judging by the liquid color it's clear that JR is drinking vodka & puppy blood. When is this guy going to grow up?!

Meh.
I can't tell if this is good or bad for the Cs.
Bad in the sense that, had JR NOT gone partying, Cs might have lost game 5.
Good in the sense that ... we won Game 5.
Celtics fan for life.

I'm sure a cocky guy would  use restraint when going out the night before a big game. ::)

If he had to wake up early to go to practice, it wouldn't matter how young or in shape he is. The body still needs to detox.

This actually concerns me more than makes me happy. If his poor play was a result of having a few too many, then he most likely won't make that mistake again, at least in this series.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

JR is known for partying way too hard to the detriment of his game. He said the way he turned things around the past couple seasons was based on him going out less and hitting the gym more. It seems really unlikely he was just going out for a few drinks.
